Description of Work: Remodeled small half bathroom. They removed the subfloor which had water damage and tiled it. Tore out old vanity and installed new one with sink. Painted. Installed plate glass mirror and put decorative tile around it,to my personal specs, which came out extremely beautiful. Installed all accessory hardware. Plumbed, and electrical work too. No tub. Toilet pulled for floor work and re-placed with new wax seal. |This contractor Did NOT take ANY money upfront. I had paid for materials such as vanity, sink, and accessories such as towel bars and other matching items, as I had selected these items ahead of choosing a contractor. Work time estimate was 10 days (no w/e) actual time: 9 days, with 2 returns for tiny touch-ups I found. He was so courteous, clean, and pleasant it was a pleasure to have him in the house. He accepted some changes to the plans that I came up with, gracefully. Also, occasional large tools, which didn't fit IN the bathroom were left in the house where he obtained my permission to do so. This was no inconvenience at all. Just trying to give you an idea of what a remodel is really like. (When he had down time he even hung a heavy picture in another room for me- what a guy, treats an old lady well!)

He responded to my calls quickly and probably gave a fairly fair estimate. His company has been in business for 19 years and it is who the BBB uses for their investigations.

+ 2 moreWe contacted 3 contractors. Bob's was a referral. Other companies suggested a complete rip-out; Bob's suggested working with existing cabinetry to keep costs down. Bob himself came to do the estimate, but the work was done by one of his sub-contractors. No money was required up front; payment was due when the work was done and we were satisfied. I highly recommend Bob's for remodeling projects in kitchen/bath.
Description of Work: Kitchen renovation including granite countertops, tile backsplash, refinish cabinets and installation of new appliances. Work was done on time with high quality results. Work has held up now for nearly 2 years.

+ 1 moreVery well. He was at our home in advance of the appointment. He had all of the tools and most of the hardware required for the work in his truck. He quickly obtained additional hardware at a nearby store. He finished all the work on the first appointment in about five hours. He was clean, made no mess, polite and his hourly rate was reasonable.
Description of Work: Arranged safety gate which worked without damage to any part of the walls, stairs or rails to our lower level in advance of visit of our 16 month old granddaughter (required some carpentry); set a garden hose support in an outdoor stone wall; installed several dozen new lamps in a very difficult to reach indirect lighting fixture in a bathroom; installed a magnetic knife rack in our kitchen; and replaced an outdoor lamp in a fixture located about 14 feet above our front door entrance.

+ 0 moreBob came and measured the kitchen area and suggested new lighting in the kitchen/breakfast area. We received a proposal within a couple of days and were able to contact Bob for any questions we had after we decided on a couple of modifications to the original proposal. Mike, who works for Bob, did the entire kitchen renovation. He removed the old kitchen cabinets and installed the new ones. Mike is a professional who arrived promptly at 0815 each day and only took a half hour lunch break. He answered any questions we had. Mike supervised the installation of the new lights, plumbing, new microwave and oven done by other contractors, all to our entire satisfaction.
Description of Work: Had the entire kitchen remodeled to include countertop and new stove/microwave.

+ -1 moreCalled Bob in April 2009, he got back to us in May & sheduled tile job on our shower for 06/13/09. Tiler showed up late. I went to work & came home to a note that said shower "was too wet to tile" They DID NOT RETURN UNTIL JULY when tiler looked at it & said it was still to wet. Finally got Bob to look at it in AUGUST (NOTE WE DID NOT USE THIS SHOWER DURING THE ENTIRE TIME) & he said they would do it but not sure when. Paid him for tile purchased (130.00 for 9SF--which was a huge ripoff) And found another person to do the job within a week. NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!

+ -1 moreIt seemed like I got a fair price. I thought that the cost was going to be more like $3000 but it ended up being $2500. It was pretty close to his estimate - it was a little over but I was expecting it to be more because of all the work the guys did. The only thing that I would have a quibble about was the shower door which I think was kind of expensive for what I got. They also installed it, and so that is probably another reason why it was expensive. You might get them cheaper elsewhere. Other than that I was satisfied with their work. The guy who did the work was on time everyday. He might have taken a little longer to do the work but he was conscientious, and he did a good job. When Bob scheduled the appointment, I guess he forgot to write it down in the book, and so they didn?t show up the day that the work was scheduled. I called him, and he apologized and scheduled it a different day. It was a good experience overall, and I would use him in the future.
Description of Work: I used Bob's Home & Office Repair to install a shower door, put in a new light and wire up the fan. They tiled the ceiling and the three walls as well. They had to do a lot of cutting because my shower isn’t exactly perfect.

He let me know that he had someone available later in the week. Nick came out and did a great job. He was prompt, courteous, and thorough in his work. This is the second time we've used one of Bob's men and have been completely satisfied.

His workers are all of the highest quality and his prices are always very reasonable, although I do not recall the exact price of this last job. They even go the extra mile and arrange for other contractors to come when it is a job he can't do himself. With him around I never have to worry about a thing.

+ -1 moreWe have had Bob do numerous projects for us. He is a real handyman. He has also done window repair and replacement and worked on our fireplace. The deck was not cheap but it was well worth every penny. He uses only the best sturdy lumber but it will last us forever.

+ 2 moreBob does great work and the shower is so nice. The deck is gorgeous and I m very happy with the job he did. He was very professional, showed up right on time, and cleaned up every bit of the mess. He has a very reputable company, and I would highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Bob installed ceramic tile throughout my eight foot by three-foot shower in my bathroom. He tiled the shower, and the walls, and poured concrete underneath the shower. He also built my ten by twelve foot outside deck out of high quality wood, and stained it. Both jobs were done together, and the shower cost fifteen hundred dollars including materials and the deck cost forty five hundred dollars including materials.

+ -1 moreI had a wooden vanity installed in my bathroom and the installer did the job well. He didn't bang the walls putting it in and there was no mess or materials left behind. He put in the vanity, sink and the faucet. The water pipes were connected and it was up and running because it was not a difficult job for him and it didn't take long. The cost was nominal I really don't even remember it exactly maybe 125.
Description of Work: I had a 60-inch wide wooden vanity with a sink installed in my bathroom.
