Big O Maids

I purchased a voucher on Living Social for housecleaning from this service. I first scheduled them before Christmas, but they didn't show up. I called and Makayla answered. She had no idea where her crew was or why they didn't show, but she offered to reschedule after playing phone tag for 2 hours trying to determine if they were going to show up or not. I really wanted the cleaning before Christmas, but since that wasn't possible I rescheduled for 1pm on Monday, January 5. On Saturday, January 3 Makayla called and asked if they could reschedule to 3pm. I said that would be fine and asked if she was sure they would show up this time. She assured me that she, the owner and another employee would be the ones coming and they would be there. On Monday no one shows up again. I tried to call at 3:30 to see if they were running late or what, but only got voicemail and never received a call back after leaving a message. I tried to call again and still never received a call letting me know what had happened. I was able to call Living Social and get my money back on the voucher. Big O Maids had a website and a Facebook page when I purchased the voucher and touted that the owner also had a Janitorial Business, Big O Clean, so they seemed legitimate. Now both their website and Facebook page have been taken down. I don't know if this was a scam on Living Social or simply poor business practices, but I definitely would not recommend doing business with this company.

A team of two came to clean the house. One was very professional and thorough, although she did break the plastic guide on the shower door. She did an excellent job of cleaning the bathrooms. The second member of the team was a nightmare. She failed to dust much of the living room furniture (and I don't have that much furniture) and did a poor job of vacuuming. She spent much of her time complaining about various ailments and rearranging decorative items on kitchen shelves (Seriously, she totally moved pottery and other things around - even to different shelves. She initially asked if she could move two items. I gave her permission, and I guess she thought that meant she could rearrange everything). They supplied their own cleaning products. The one that was used for dusting left major smear marks, so I found myself redoing a number of items - from the kitchen countertops (which I would have thought something other than a dusting product would have been used) to spots left on two walls to my computer speakers. At least the computer speakers were not damage. I did complain to a man named "Dale," and he assured me that the company would "make things right." However, it took five-six phone calls before the company eventually refunded my money. At the time of my first call - I waited a couple of days before deciding to complain - Dale told me the second member of the team already had been fired because of complaints from other customers. As a side note, one of the cleaners did say that, if I "liked" the company on its Facebook page, I would get a discount on my next cleaning. Hence, the reason for Angie's List.
