Basement Innovations

I hired Basement Innovations in July 2016. I was told the project would be complete by November 2016. I paid approximately 1/3 of the project cost. At first workers showed up and started the project. Then weeks would go by with nobody working. I would constantly get excuses for the delays. I met one of the owners at CKF to pick out my cabinets and countertop for the bar area. I found out later they never ordered them but they told me they had, they were backordered, would be here in January. In January they showed up with homemade cabinets that looked nothing like what I picked out- obviously to save money. At this point I fired them but had already paid them $40k in installments. Bathroom wasn’t done. No cabinets, no fixtures, carpet, etc. I hired another contractor to come in and finish the project and they found electrical wasn’t done to code so a lot of it had to be redone. The walls weren’t square. Standard door openings were wrong so special order doors and shower door had to be ordered. It was clear they had no construction experience and the $40k I paid them was bank rolling their business, not going to my basement. With what I paid them and the new contractor the project was $20k more than I budgeted. It’s been a nightmare. Do not hire them or you are taking a huge risk and doing business with an inexperienced, unprofessional company.
