Chad came out and gave us a very reasonable quote on resurfacing the cupboards in the kitchen. He told us what he would do and how much it would cost and when he could get to it. It was all very resonable and sounded good, so we said we would move forward. He said that he like to have 1/2 down. It sounded ok, so we paid him half of the estimate. 2 weeks later, everything changed. We had gone to Missouri and found a new home and sold our home in Nebraska. Chad had not shown up yet, so we called him and told him that we would not be needing him and wondered if we could get our money back. He said, oh, I have never had this happen before. I will send you your money back. We didn't receive it in 2 weeks, so called him and got his voice mail. We asked him about the money. He texted us asking for our address and said he would mail the check. We have not received it yet, and do not get answers to our phone calls. We have called him 2 more times. We are now ready to move and have heard nothing from Chad. We have no clue what kind of work he actually does, but think he should ask for 10% down and then don't cash the check until he starts the work.
