They jimmy-rigged install without telling me. The unit later came loose, and they promised to fix. Never showed up.

They arrived on time, drained water from old water heater and installed new one quickly. They had to make a few changes to existing pipes because old water heater was taller. They did a Great job. Will use them again.

There was some urgency, because classes and church services were scheduled for the next three days beginning the next evening and the building was without water until the broken line was fixed. Over the phone, the plumber indicated they might be able to get to it that day. Instead, the journeyman arrived late the next day unprepared to finish the work, reporting that he was misinformed by the dispatcher that the job did not need to be finished for another day (i.e., two days after the phone call). Fortunately, the journeyman was able to cap the broken line immediately so that the water could be restored to areas of the building used for classes and church services. The journeyman returned four days later to finish the job (after classes and service were over because all building water had to be turned off to do it) . Old corroded valves were in a difficult to reach basement ceiling shaft, and I assisted the journeyman in their removal (securing the pipes from moving while the journeyman sawed). After removing the old valves, journeyman took about another two hours to replace the old valves with pex line valves (i.e., the work took c. 3 hours total). Plumber came by to review the work around the end of the first hour. Both journeyman and plumber were very nice and professional. Plumber offered advice on other work that might be done for renovation of the building. Price (mostly for labor) seemed a bit high, but hard to know as I have no experience on it.

This was the second time we have called Simmons Plumbing, and both times we have been very happy with their fast, professional, and affordable work. We have an older home in which some of the fixtures have been updated but others have not. This time, the issue was a broken faucet handle on one of the older bathroom sinks. They were able to come within an hour of my initial call, quickly identified the problem, and went to the supply house to look for a replacement part. They let us know that, given the age of the fixture, there was a chance that we would have to replace the entire faucet, but they also thought there was a good chance they would be able to find the necessary part. Happily, they did find the part we needed and were able to repair the original fixture. We are very happy with this provider and plan to continue working with them in the future any time we have a plumbing problem.

We had to call them for separate things to be done, even if there were obvious problems that were right next to each other. Perhaps it would of been less costly if multiple problems were observed and dealt with during one service call. There was a concern about a strong gas smell after they changed the water heater and we were out of the house and it was closed up and I had to call them about the smell upon our return.

Went well

They came out the same day I called them. They gave me a bid and had time to do the work when he arrived. He did a good job and cleaned up after himself. He was even courteous to my pets and did not let them out of the door.
