My first contact was to secure a repair worker about repairing a squeel in my 7-yr-old dryer. The soonest they could make an appoinment was for a $79 diagnostic in 3 weeks. (All repair companies I contacted charge the same amount [!] except for the one I later chose.) The diagnostician was to arrive anywhere between 12-5 that day. By 2:30 I thought to call for an ETA, and was told I was on the end of his route. I asked if the 12-5 window covered the time spent on the job, or just arriving at the door. "Ideally," I was told, "any work is done by 5." The worker called me at 5:15 about coming over; I had an engagement to go to, so told him I accepted plan B earlier offered by the office staff to reschedule for a full week later. Instead, I called Mike's Appliance Repair and got the diagnostic and repair completed the next day, and I suspect at half the cost.

Sales person was knowledgeable about products and options. Instructed us on how to use and maintain the new dishwasher for the best performance. Gave us a good deal and saved us a trip to Omaha where you deal with people who are just here to sell not help. Installed the day we requested with no problems.

I recently moved into a new house and needed to replace all of the appliances. I?ve bought appliances in the past from Schaefer?s and have been pleased ? and this time was no different. They took the time to listen to what I needed and help me find the best solution (in a few of the items, I ended up going with the less expensive model as it was a better for my needs).

We bought the dryer and washing machine set May of this year. The repair of the washing machine did not cost me anything as part of the warranty. The only thing we paid was the labor. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: We purchased our washer and dryer set at Schaefer's. Apparently, the washing machine we bought is not functioning well. It turned out they had to repair it.

I want to tell everybody that never, ever buy a whirlpool cabrio. I had it for 9 months and it's out here now and it sounds like a dead engine. Schaefer's Appliances is great, and that's where I bought the cabrio, but that's not their fault. I just bought a new washer there yesterday after I finally forced whirlpool to give me a refund for this piece of junk. I buy all my appliances from there since 1998. We actually lived across the street and then we moved. I was there yesterday and spent $1100 by buying a LG washer. Schafer's gave me a discount on the washer that I bought ,because the previous one was a lemon. They gave me a free 5 year service contract for which they would come out here to fix it for free and anytime, anything is wrong with it. I like Schaefer's and I've been going there for a long time. Their price is good and they'll match anybody's price, but now they already have the lowest price. They are really professional and I would continue to go there in the future.

Schaefer's is also able to service the appliances they sell. They also provide general service for appliances they don't sell. Usually their fees include parts. They are awesome!

I like them a lot. It's a great 27" TV. They deliver it and install it. My stove and fridge has lasted for 20 years. They showed me how to maintain it.

They've always treated me right. Once I had a washer that was a month out of warranty and they still honored the warranty on it. Their delivery personnel are always so courtesy and punctual. They will bend over backwards to make the experience and service wonderful.

We have used them in the past. We had another company come out first this time. That company came out and said that it would at least cost about $300 for looking at a computer panel at the back. They told me that they would get back with me, but they never did. So, we called Schaefer?s and they came out. They actually diagnosed the same problem, but they said that it was under recall. So, it didn?t cost us a dime. My experience with them was very good. The person who came out had the diagnostic equipment. He made calls to the company to verify what his findings were and that?s when we found out that there was a recall. Then they told us about the recall and he did a very good job. The quality was fine. They were very quick in responding. They had to order the part which came to us in two days and he came out the next day to fix it. We would use their services in the future too.
Description of Work: Schaefer’s TV & Appliance Center repaired our stove on the 14th of March. They replaced a computer panel, which was like a mother board type of thing in the stove. It was the main computer control at the back. There was one electrical element and one element was on the entire time. It wouldn’t go off and they fixed it. They sell appliances and TV’s, but they also service them.

Brian came to inspect our washer and drier which were both acting up. Brian was full of useful information and provided reasonable options on how to proceed. Everything is now working well at a minimal cost.
Description of Work: Our Amana washer and drier were both acting up. The washer had filled the room with smoke (yikes!) and had been unplugged and was awaiting a once over by a technician. Our very old drier had been shutting down in midcycle. The technician Brian arrived and promptly got to work. After a quick run through of tests and some inspections, he determined that there was nothing mechanically wrong with the washer but suggested that a new drive belt might be a prudent repair. This was a fairly minor repair and the washer works just fine now. After describing the problems with the drier and mentioning its age, Brian suggested there wasn't a lot of help that could be provided there and suggested we simply continue to use it until it fails altogether or simply replace it. He suggested we not even incur the fee of his inspection and diagnosis so we did not have him look at it in the end.

Overall... 1) If they had been on time I could have supervised this much better. 2) It was a total waste of my time for them to install the washer because I had to totally uninstall it to repair the damaged outlet and vent. I also had to purchase a dolly to do this. 3) They bent the riser on installation and promised to fix it... Instead they delayed until the 7 day warranty expired and then "Rick" refused to correct the problem. I do not recommend their installation team and I will never let them install a product in my home again. Pros... Good quality (except for damaged riser) and cheapest price around.
Description of Work: 6/7/2008 Purchased a washer/dryer combo 6/9/2008 Installers showed up 45 minutes so I couldn't supervise the full installation. I did witness a snap when they were trying to remove the old vent line but he said that nothing was wrong. My girlfriend was left to supervise while I went to work. When I got home only the washer was installed. They said no power to outlet for dryer. The outlet had been obviously hit and damaged. Inspection of the outlet revealed that a wire had been jarred loose. I then saw that the dryer vent had been broken in two inside the wall which I believe was caused by the snap I had heard earlier. They completely installed the washer, and left the dryer in position unhooked. I also noticed the the riser appeared bent. I had to uninstall the washer to access the damaged power outlet. I fixed the power outlet and vent. I purchased a dolly and reinstalled both dryer and washer myself and balanced. 6/11/2008 Ran first load and washer vibrated excessively. Contacted Schaefer's 6/12/2008 Service man came out and said that the excessive vibration was caused by a bent riser. He will order a replacement riser and install in a couple days. 6/14/2008 The 7 day exchange/refund expires today. Called "Rick" and he said the riser had been approved and they will show up with 2 guys to install on 6/19/2008 6/19/2008 Serviceman (Mike) shows up. No replacement done. Only one serviceman instead of two. He adjusted feet and said that if this doesn’t fix it then buy rubber pads to put under feet to absorb vibration. The 7 day exchange/refund is now expired. They won't fix. To say the least I was very unhappy.
