RANDOLPH VAC & SEW

this is the 2nd time I have used Randolph Vacuum. Great experience both times. They replaced the motor of this Kirby 12 years ago and it continues to work perfectly. The vacuum is 30 years old. This time, they replaced the outbag for a more than fair price and repaired the hose that blows the debris into the inner, replaceable bag. I will use them again and recommend their services. Very considerate and completed the work in 48 hours.

Randolph Sew and Vac sat on my broken sewing machine for over five months, did nothing, and lied about it. On 12/5/13 I dropped my broken sewing machine off at Randolph Sew and Vac for repairs. Within a week or so, I was told that it had a broken part that needed to be ordered. I called back a few weeks later, and was told that when they attempted to order the part, the manufacturer told them to send the whole machine to the company, and so they were planning to ship it. Every few weeks, I would call or stop in to ask if my sewing machine was back. I was told that they were waiting for it to come back from the company, that they would call and ask, and were waiting to hear back. I was told and quot;don't call us, we'll call you.and quot; Finally, in May, after having no progress on getting my machine back, I called the manufacturer. They said they had no record of having received the sewing machine. So on 5/13/14, I went back to Randolph Sew and Vac, and told them that the manufacturer said they did not have the machine. I was told at that time that the machine had been sent to a sale representative who had neglected to expedite the process. I asked the name of that sales rep, and called back the manufacturer, and told them that Randolph Sew and Vac said they had sent the machine to this particular sales rep. The sales rep was in fact employed by the manufacturer, and the manufacturer then called this person to inquire about the sewing machine. The manufacturer then called me back to say that the sales rep had never received the machine, and then they called Randolph Sew and Vac, who then admitted that they had never shipped the machine to anyone. I immediately went back to the shop and asked “Do you have my sewing machine? Can I have it back?” There it was, behind the counter, exactly as I left it over 5 months ago. All these 5+ months, the broken machine was sitting at Randolph Sew and Vac, and they repeatedly lied about having sent it, when they had never even packed it.

There are several bad reviews outside of this website for this company! They didn't do a blasted thing. They had my vacuum for almost a month and hadn't even touched it, i.e., 2/22 - 3/18. They don't answer their phone (I called for days), return calls (when the owner commits to do so) or pay attention to voice mails (never responded). One of the 2 times I got them to answer their phone on 3/18, I found out they had not even started the service! Consequently, I told them not to touch it and I would be picking it up later that afternoon (which is what I did). Upon dropping it off for service, the owner Rob told me my vac needed gaskets, etc. for a cost of approx. $60.00. What a joke, I'll never go back there again. He also told me at the time of drop off (on 2/22) not to call to check on the status of the vacuum. What, really??? You can't be bothered with customer calls??? I then had it serviced at Lincoln Vac and paid $24.00 for the service and had it back within 1 1/2 weeks.

If you need work done rapidly, you may want to try elsewhere. It took him 2 weeks to GET to my machine. Once he did, however, the work was done quickly, and I think the charge was reasonable. When I got it home and began using it, it ran like a DREAM ... but, the new foot pedal was defective. It didn't return completely to the OFF position when I removed my foot, and the machine continued to (slowly) run. I called him and he replaced that pedal with another new one the very next day ... no extra charge.

They were really good. They didn't take very long to fix it. It was inexpensive.
