Description of Work: My kitchen faucet was leaking, all over the chrome base and the surrounding countertop, as well as down under the sink. The plumber from John Henry's took a look and suggested a new faucet, to which I agreed. We discussed options available based on what he had on his truck. I chose an option and he went out and got the new faucet. He removed the old one and took special care to scrape away the mineral deposits around where its base had been, which took him several minutes and plenty of effort. When he went to install the new faucet he discovered the center hole in my granite countertop wasn't the correct size. He called several people trying to figure out whether John Henry's sells a faucet that would fit, and reached the conclusion that they don't. He told me I could buy one from Home Depot or Lowe's that would fit, but those are second quality products - not as good as the ones he has on his truck. I didn't really believe this but I didn't argue; I was ok with buying it from John Henry's. Because the center hole was too small, he called and made arrangements with Custom Countertops to come and bore it out to the correct diameter. He took care of all the arrangements - I just had to give 'em my card number. He went to another job pending completion, and the Custom Countertops folks showed up within 45 minutes. They bored it out in no time ($75) and I called the plumber to let him know it was done. He returned promptly and finished the installation. Everything went smoothly and the new faucet seems pretty nice, especially considering it's their sort of entry-level model. It's a Moen faucet so it has a lifetime warranty, to boot. Overall, I was quite satisfied.

Description of Work: I needed ductwork vented to the outside from the installation of a new bathroom fan. The initial visit for the free quote happened in a very timely manner and the tech showed up when expected and got right to work. He had to cut into the bathroom ceiling and left a good size hole, which I had advised was fine b/c I needed to do add'l patchwork from the electrical for the fan. However the technician did leave dirty scuffs and handprints on the wall and didn't clean up as much as I would have liked. |I would have hoped he would have been a little more thorough with the cleanup for the price.

Description of Work: Replaced water softener which went out and caused all valves, that had running soft water, to clog with brine. All valves were replaced.

Description of Work: I had an issue with my air conditioning unit where the fan was turning intermittently. I originally called another heating service, but they couldn't arrive for four days. I couldn't wait that long, so I called John Henry. They said if the technician arrived after seven p.m., it would be all overtime cost. So, of course, that's when I assumed they would get there. But wouldn't you know it, they showed up almost four hours earlier the day I called. | |I was already happy with that. | |They replaced a pump and for a time at least, it looked like it did the trick. But even before they left I tested it again and back to the same problem. Well, from what they said the pump was the problem, but also a problem was something in the circuit board. So, he did something that did the trick and it's worked just fine ever since. | |I was in a bind and this had to be fixed that day. They did it. I don't know what this kind of stuff costs when it comes to competitors. All in all I was happy, because they got it fixed that day and I haven't had a problem since.

Description of Work: I had them come out to give me a quote on a new air conditioner. They were timely and were patient for me since I was late. My biggest complaint is that they just never gave me the quote. I did not hear back from them whatsoever.

Description of Work: The natural gas line into my house had a leak. Black Hill's shut off the gas but I had to get a plumber to fix the leak and turn the gas back on. Since it was a weekend, I contacted John Henry's since they have normal business hours for 7am to 7pm on the weekends. The pipe was replaced, and my system checked. The service person inspected everything and gave me some recommended items to watch. He was very personable.

Description of Work: Quickly scheduled and completed work required. Price was a little high but not unreasonable. Replaced back flow regulator for underground sprinkler system.

Description of Work: John Henry replaced a 66 gallon hot water heater (electric) with another AO Smith. They were prompt, careful and cleaned up the area as well as putting down drop cloths to protect the carpet. John Henry has installed an electric furnace, air to air heat pump including new electrical plus regular service/maintenance work as well as plumbing and their work is near perfect.

Description of Work: I have used John Henry's numerous times, most recently for installing a new toilet. I have had excellent experience with them and will continue to use them.
