Jason Erickson Painting

10/25...I hired Jason October 1st to do some interior painting, which (per our signed contract) was to be completed within 19 days...this DID NOT happen. As requested by Jason, we moved pretty much all of our furnishings from the house to the basement to make his job easier. After 25 days, the job is still not finished and our home remains in shambles. My level of frustration at this point is completely off the charts, and I'll tell you why. With the exception of the day I paid him his required 1/2 down payment, Jason has been consistently late and unreliable (arriving on time ONLY 2 DAYS OUT OF 25). He is a one man show and talks consistently about how behind he is, yet he continues to bid on jobs before completing those he has already contracted. While Jason seems like a decent man and does an excellent job painting when he does show up, he is extremely slow and I would NEVER hire him again, nor would I recommend him to anyone else. The job was finally finished today (10/26), 10 days over original schedule per contract...yay! The final straw was the audacity of this guy to give me a "punch list" as he called it to tell me about all the "extras" he did for me because he's "a nice guy." With the exception of moving a couple pieces of furniture here and there, this so-called "punch-list" was EVERYTHING we discussed PRIOR to signing the contract. Again, horrible experience and I would never, EVER make the mistake of hiring this guy again. PS The final project looks fantastic but, it was not worth the aggravation. UPDATE TO PREVIOUS POST: Now that a little time has passed since the painting job was completed, I take back anything I said about "quality" work. The baseboards, which were all changed from dark brown varnish to white paint, have ALL started losing the paint after just over a month! I had to hire a NEW painter to come in behind Jason and clean up his mess by repainting all baseboards. Ironically, the painter I hired knew exactly who had done the work he came to fix BEFORE I even had the chance to tell him! Apparently, most of the other local painters in Lincoln have cleaned up behind Jason enough to know his workmanship at first sight.!! Hindsight is 20/20, but I would caution anyone out there looking for a quality painter NOT to use this guy. It's costing me a fortune to get things done right at this point.. Wish I had known better.
