I'm hoping the following will still be corrected. **** Most important - Do not believe Jose when he says he guarantees his work He only guarantees his work if he agrees with you. If you, as the customer, do not like what was done he will not correct the problem**** Background info - I had bought two houses that were side by side last August. I had the west one tore down so that I would have a backyard for my grandkids to play in. After the house was tore down they brought in dirt to fill in the hole and to level off the yard. I wanted to put a half basketball court, an above ground 14 ft pool, and a patio area plus green space. The area is about 60' x 160'. The concrete part of this project began in June 2013 but was put on hold until July 6, 2013. Jose was specifically told at the beginning of the project what the expectations were and what the concrete was to be used for. He was told that it was imperative that the concrete be level. I was told that it needed some slope for water to run off. I immediately responded with no but was talked into allowing what was supposed to be an "nth of a degree" of slope of which I was told I would not even notice. After three weeks of watching one person work on this large project they finally were ready to pour the basketball court. The slope didn't seem right before the pour and I asked about it but was told it would be okay. They are supposed to be the experts and they knew my expectations so I said ok. After they poured I questioned the slope again but was told that was what they had to do. This did not seem right to me but again he was supposed to be the expert. A week later we were finally ready to pour the pool and patio area. I was out of town when they poured this and came back to find almost a foot wide of tapered concrete that formed a ridge and ran down the length of the pool area. I of course was very unhappy with this. They said they had to create this ridge to make the pool area level which by the way is not level at all! The overall slant for the basketball and pool area that was supposed to be unnoticeable is actually a 1" drop every 4'! Jose stated that he wanted to make me happy and would do what it took to correct the problem. He asked for partial payment of the project to which I stupidly gave him as he had promised to fix the problem and I foolishly believed him. Unfortunately the only way to fix this and have the pool and basketball areas level is to redo all of the concrete. This is the part he does not want to do. It was his choice to ignore my request for these areas to be level. Instead of removing the dirt that I had paid for to be brought in, they should have added more dirt to bring up the North end of the lot to match up the South end of the lot. This would have taken care of the variance. Additionally to all of the above, he had promised to replace the gutters to which are still not done so I've had rain running right next to my foundation for the last two months. At this time I would not recommend this company to anyone. Hopefully he will decide to honor his guarantee and his promise to correct the problem.
