An outstanding experience working with a professional crew that tried their best to address all our concerns and Nick went out of his way to make sure we were happy with the job.

My home is 80 years old. Several windows were deteriorating and needed to be replaced. They came out, looked at my windows, measured, and gave me an estimate. After I gave them the go-ahead, they ordered the windows then were out to install them right away. One of the windows required re-framing. I was kind of nervous about that as I wanted to retain the look of the rest of the window frames in the home. Their carpentry work was superb. I absolutely love the new framing and am so glad they did it. It looks so much better than before. The company is incredibly professional, prompt, trustworthy, and reasonably priced. I will definitely call on them again for windows, siding, or gutter work.

From the first time I met Nick & Lacy I was impressed with their professionalism and caring attitude. They thoughtfully answered my "stupid" questions, and explained things in a way that I could easily understand them and NEVER spoke in a demeaning manner. They always treated me as a partner in the entire process of selecting siding, colors, trim, and windows. They matched the interior wood color perfectly with the new windows. They patiently took over 45 minutes during our first meeting to get a "rough" measurement and talk me through the selection of siding color, trim and windows. They gave me options to choose from and didn't dictate what I should do. They kept me up-to-date with what was going on during the entire process. Not only did they install the windows and clean up after, they willingly took down all window coverings and but them back in place. They even installed a new drapery rod over the new patio door. That for me was priceless!! It was like having family do the work - taking care of the house and the outside, to the point of raking the ground to make sure they got all the trash. I honestly missed having them around after they left!!

The provided very good quality and I am pleased with their work. I have recommended them to others. They were very professional and their company was fine to work with. I was satisfied with the price but I did not compare pricing. Their punctuality was very good but I had to wait a couple of days once for a return phone call; it was not a big deal.

Job went well. Efficiently done and well done. Had metal siding done on house to replace 20 year old vinyl siding. Thought job was professionally done and reasonably priced.

We had three company's bid on the installation of 11 HighE windows from Pella (blinds between the glass). We choose Capital City, they came out for the final measurements, and ordered the windows. After 3 weeks I called back to check on the progress. The windows were soon to arrive, which they stained before the final installation. We scheduled the installation for a Friday, they installed all the windows that Friday. On Monday they returned to finish the interior and exterior trim (fill, stain, polish interior trim, install exterior trim and paint to match exterior color). The project went smoothly.

We made a point of contacting multiple area contractors - six to be exact - for the siding/soffit/fascia project described previously. Like most homeowners seeking contractor services, our goal was to receive the finest quality of work for the best price. Of course we did not want to overpay for our siding job, however we we quite willing to pass on lower bids if we were not convinced in the quality of work that would be performed. After receiving five previous bids, we made contact with Capitol City Exteriors. My call was motivated by reading the many positive reviews of the company on Angie's List. In just a few days, Nick (the owner of Capitol City Exteriors) and his wife both came to our home, took measurements, etc. to calculate an estimate. Nick reviewed the estimate with us, providing a full explanation of the work to be performed, samples of the products he intended to use, and literature regarding each product the very same day. In fact, this was the only company to provide a bid that was explained to us in person, not to mention reviewed at the same them measurements were taken. I found this to be very impressive - all other estimates just appeared in the mail days (sometimes weeks) later. During our meeting, I asked Nick a series of questions focusing on how he and his crew would execute the siding job. I was delighted to quickly learn that the siding would be installed correctly following the manufacturer requirements necessary for the warranty to be valid. I know, it seems like a given that siding would be installed following the guidelines of the manufacturer. However, many of the other estimates we received wanted to use installation processes that would have voided the warranty from day one! The cost of the estimate was competitive. With respect to the project, Nick and his crew showed up on time and the entire process was completed in about two weeks. The crew did a fine job keeping the area around our home clean, picked up, free of debris, etc. The bushes and shrubs around our home were treated with care - nothing was disturbed beyond necessity. Nick's employees were kind and courteous to my wife and daughter, they presented themselves respectably at all times. The project was completed as outlined in the contract (and as discussed) to my complete satisfaction. If you are looking to replace your siding, I would highly recommend Capitol City Exteriors! In fact, if you live in the Lincoln/Seward area and you do NOT consider Capitol City Exteriors for your siding project, you are making very costly mistake. Just give them a call - I think you'll be glad you did.

They were professional and just really nice people. They were very good and the workers were very friendly. They cleaned up afterwards. They did very good work. The quality and price were great.

Great company will use again when needed

I had gotten estimates from other companies and they were less. They did a superb job. In winter of 2010, here at Lincoln it was very cold and snowy. They worked in bitter cold temperatures, as low as 10 degrees. They really worked in brutal condition, but they did it. They were here 7:30 every morning like clockwork. I don't know how the withstood it. I would grade them the highest for everything. I would use them in the future. In the future, I think, I will knock down my garage and have a new one built. I will use them to put the same sliding in the garage. They are excellent.

We interviewed several companies and Capital City Exteriors was the least expensive. Nick had a few extra things that didn't cost as much and he could get started soon. He even used good products like Gene Harding siding on our home. I can't say enough; even his co-workers were very pleasant and cleaned after the job nicely. I think a satisfied customer is your est advertising. Again, we were very happy with them and would use them in the future.

Up front, the owner was professional and provided good communication. Job did not start when initially thought, but an exact start date was not promised, so this was not a big problem. The owner was on site during the entire project and quality of material and most of the installation was very good (until the end). On the interior, window treatments were removed to install windows. Some of the treatments were damaged. On the exterior, some plants were destroyed by the crew. We had on area of siding that was not installed correctly above our garage. It fell off the house three times. The solution offered by Capital City Exteriors was to nail it to the house, in the middle of the visible surface. Only after sending a letter to the manufacturer with photos and a message to the owner of Capital City Exteriors, stating our displeasure with his solution, was problem satisfactorily corrected. Cost of damage to interior window treatments and plants was deducted from the final bill but owner of Capital City Exteriors told us if there was much more he would just turn it into his insurance company (apparently leaving us to settle a claim with them). His attitude was poor in the end and the initial professional communication did not exist. We will not do business with this company again.

We had called other siding contractors who either never called back, or put us off for months. We just tried Nick based on a Yellow Page ad. He was very good about calling us back, and keeping us aware of when the work would be done. I felt like he was working on his own house. All of his crew wanted to do things right, and if they found something about the previous siding or gutters that they didn't like, they would consult with me, and say "let's do it better this time, and here is why". I also liked the fact that the boss and owner were on the job at all times. It was a great experience. I had been dreading it, based on some other horror stories I've heard, but the whole process from estimate to final clean-up was positive. These are good people!
