+ -1 moreThe Bouwens plumber came next day, was punctual and quickly discovered NO leak, simply a valve that needed replacing. He got the part, fixed the appliance, and went on his way. $102 as opposed to the several-hundred- dollar heater we did not need (and which the gas service company sells).
Description of Work: The pilot light went out on our water heater. Gas service said we had a leak in the bottom and needed a new water heater.

Description of Work: I have used Bowens for several years, because they are honest and reliable. I owned a historical home in which they put in a basement bathroom for less than half of what other plumbers in town were quoteing me. They show up when they are supposed to and if they are runnig late they always call. They are professional, clean and polite. They treat your home courteously and do a great job of cleaning up after themselves. Since then I have had them for all sorts of plumbing concerns and most recently had them install a water softner in my newest home. Also, they have never charged me overtime or double time on a Husker football Saturday or holiday, like so many other companies do.

+ -1 moreMy experience with Bouwens has been uneventful, which is a good thing. They do what they say they will do when they say they will do it. Their pricing seems reasonable to me. Every time I call them, they have someone come within 24 hours. I do not know the owners, but the plumbers who come to my house are polite and professional. I think this is a fairly small, family-run company but I am not real sure about all of that.
Description of Work: I have used Bouwens Plumbing for years. Most recently, I had a kitchen drain clogged. Before that, I had a washer drain clogged. A few years ago, they installed a new hot water heater. They have installed a humidifier on my furnace.

+ -1 moreMy house and the pipes are from the 1920ies... so they had a heck of a time doing their job... Took about a day and a half, heavy equipment... but they even set the daffodils aside and planted them back in where they were -- that's a tiny detail, but typical for that business: great care and paying attention not to a quick buck made for themselves but the happiness of the customer!
