Our home warranty company sent the Appliance Doctor because our dishwasher was not cleaning properly. The owner was the person at our house. He measured the temperature of our water at 120 F and said all we have to do is turn the water heater up and left. He stated the dishwasher doesn't have an internal heater and to call someone to service our water heater. Our water heater was already turned up all of the way. The plumber came and measured the temperature at 150 F. They recommended turning the water heater down to avoid being scalded. We called the Appliance Doctor back to service the dishwasher, which was still not working. He retested the temperature of the water, this time at 65 F. He was extremely rude and stated we shouldn't believe a plumber over him. After another call to the home warranty company, they sent a new appliance repair company. They told us about a known issue with our model of dishwasher, and how to correct it. They also corrected a soap buildup issue and gave advice on how to get the dishwasher running properly. They measured the temperature of the water at 130 F+. They stated it is unsafe and a bad idea to turn the water heater up too high, and that the dishwasher has an internal heater that is cheaper to run than the water heater. They also stated it is against OSHA regulations to tell a customer to turn up their water heater because of safety concerns. The Appliance Doctor was rude, difficult to work with, and didn't fix the issue at hand. We even had to pay our 75.00 deductible to him and to a plumber for no reason. We would not call him back or recommend him to others.
Description of Work: Serviced dishwasher not cleaning properly.
