I was referred to them by the manufacturer for warranty work. It took them a month to get the part in and repaired. They entered the wrong part number and had to re-search. They weren't very responsive to my calls either.

They were very personable and honest. They come out right after you schedule an appointment online. You don't have to wait forever to get work done. They are a little costly but fixed the dryer right away. The technician had good humor, was calm, and explained everything that I needed to know.
Description of Work: They came and did a diagnostic test on our dryer. I didn't want them to fix it because I thought it was going to be too expensive. However, all they had to do was change a belt and it worked again.

They are a large company around here. It was hard to diagnose the problem but they never gave up. They came back several times and they charged us the original service call price. The problem is that it took them too long to do what they did. It took them over three weeks to repair a washer which really was not satisfactory. Anytime we wanted them to come out for a service call to revisit it would always be at least 7 days out. So that was kind of a problem. I will use them again in the future.

A & E Appliance Repair A & E Appliance Repair, came out to repair my dishwasher on August 19th, 2010. The dishwasher worked for about 2 weeks, and then it started doing the same thing. So, I called them back. They came back September 21, 2010, and the guy said he had to order parts(control panel and something else). Those parts took until February 1st of 2011 to come in. I must say it has been working since then. They did a good job. They were there when they said they would be. They were professional. It just took so long to get the parts.
Description of Work: A & E Appliance Repair I used A & E Appliance Repair, to repair a Kitchen Aid Dishwasher that had quit working. It was on the 19th of August. It cost $140.

The first man said we needed a transmission for the washing machine. I called and asked them to make the repair, but they were waiting on a part. The next man came out to install the transmission, but stated that wasn’t the issue. That man said the problem was the tub and they then ordered a new one. A different man came to my home to install the tub, which ended up leaking. Once they had another one in stock, a 4th man came out to install it. He stated that nothing was wrong with the first one, the installer just put the screws in the wrong way. Within a month and 2 days, we had 4 representatives come out from this company and the issue still isn’t solved. We also had problems with scheduling. We would constantly be put off and wait all day for someone to show.
Description of Work: I contacted them to repair a stacked washer and dryer. The washing machine had flooded our floors.

Ovreall, great. However, had I not had an extended warranty for my dishwaher, I would not have paid that. I think $150 is a bit much for that, but my dishwasher is still under warranty, so no cost to me. It wa valued at $150; Another thinkg, is "A & E" are Sears service people, they just changed their name from Sears Service, to A & E.

When A & E came out on the 21st, they automatically rescheduled for service on the 28th. I then received an automated call on the 27th. I returned the call to find out what the message was about. I was then told that the part would not be available until August 16th because the parts were on back order. I talked to someone and I was told that maybe the parts could be expedited if I called Whirlpool and that they could send the parts directly to me. On August 4th, I was told that I would need all three parts and that the parts would need to be released for the work to be approved. I finally had all three parts in my possession on August 11th. They came to my house on the 17th to complete the repair. Not only did they not fix my washer, they left a mess of things. They left my dryer in front of my microwave. They left the door that they had taken off in my dining room. They also left trash and screws everywhere. I have a small child and that is a dangerous situation. After calling to complain, I was scheduled for an appointment to have them come and clean up. I was called the morning of the appointment only to be told that they only scheduled one technician and that we would have to reschedule. They finally came late on the 26th and actually charged for the trip. They have been unhelpful and still did not fix my washer after all of the back and forth between myself, them, and Whirlpool.
Description of Work: A & E came out to repair our washer that is under warranty with Whirlpool.
