They came early. Called to tell me that they were on the way. Were very professional. Wiped their feet before entering the house, cleaned up everything. They showed me what they were doing while the job was in progress and explained it all when they were done. I couldn't be happier.

The installer, Mel Martinez, contacted us in the morning and said they were doing another job first that day in our town and that they would be in touch to tell us exactly what time they would arrive onsite for our repairs. Mel did exactly that. He and his crew arrived at the stated time, did the work in less time than they anticipated and cleaned the work area up and were very polite in the process. The basement area was left actually cleaner than when they started the project! Very satisfied!!

Very Professional and punctual. Went through their whole dog and pony show on how they are the best and the only basement company in town to be trusted and the only company that knows what they are doing when it comes to basements. I asked over and over for an estimate and they refused until my husband was present. My husband was not interested in meeting again if they could not give me an estimate. The only cost I could get out of them was it was going to cost $3,000 (x 6 + $18,000) each to fix each of my egress wells that were improperly installed and I was told should have been caught by the home inspector. then, I was told by my agent that they should have told me the previous owner had work done and that there was a life time transferrable warranty on the work, but that was never disclosed by Thrasher until I had to ask directly. The $18,000 did not even cover the wall work and drainage and dehumidifier that he wanted to install, but I never got a price for. So I am guessing the cost would be on the plus side of $25,000++++.

[removed member name]- Thank you for allowing us to come to your home. I tried to call you and email but have not heard back. I talked to the Design Specialist who was at your home and he was trying to come back out and meet with you and your husband to finalize exactly what you wanted on your proposal. It is important for us to provide a proposal for what you want and not what we think you may want. Please contact us so we can know how we can assist you the best. Arrived on time for appointment to give estimate. Very professional and took his time to make sure I fully understood what service would be provided and to ensure all areas of concrete were inspected. Arrived on time for appointment to perform the service. They made sure to go over each area of repair with me to ensure I was satisfied with the results. The guys on site were very pleasant and professional. They showed up when they were supposed to, they did the work I expected and went out of their way to be sure I was pleased with the completed job.

Very professional. Very thorough. Worked great with our schedule. Upsold, upsold, upsold. They refused to quote us for just drywall, and instead will only use their "special" walling. They were very fancy. All in all, it was ok, however the gentleman drew us up sketches with the wrong dimensions and the price was WAY above all the other estimates we received.

After doing some online research of several Basement/Foundation repair specialists, we chose Thrasher Basement to look more closely at the "symptoms" our 24 year old home was experiencing, and my husband and I are are so glad we did. Before System Design Specialist Kyle Walter came out to look at our home, the company sent a packet of well prepared printed information explaining the company, and possible solutions to various basement and foundation issues. (The Thrasher Basement web site is also very informative.) Studying and thinking carefully about this information before our initial meeting was most helpful to us in understanding the problems we were seeing as well as comprehending what Kyle told us. Kyle reiterated and further explained the printed information before he and his assistant then carefully examined all first floor walls for cracks/shifting and doors and windows for binding. Then they carefully examined the floors and walls of our large (1300 sf) unfinished basement as well as the 3 lower level bedrooms to get a general idea of what was happening with our house. Kyle and his assistant spent several hours using a laser transit to search for irregularities in the level of our walls and floor. My husband and I were impressed with the knowledge, science, persistence and patience exhibited in finally coming to a logical conclusion of what was happening with our house and how to remedy or prevent further damage. Our foundation was unevenly sinking -- a total of 2 inches across the expanse of the basement, thus causing the cracking walls and widening floor expansion joints we were witnessing. The solution was to place 50 push piers around the perimeter of our basement floor. Easily said, but not so easily done. We were given very clear instructions as to what we needed to move to clear working space and also what we could expect from the work crew. Project foreman Brent Foreman and his crew which included Jose and Mariel , as well as others, ultimately broke up and removed concrete from 50 approximately 2 ft. square holes in the floor, removed underlying soil to get to the footing, placed very heavy duty pier brackets under the footing at each hole, drove heavy pipes 60 to 70 feet into the earth to approximate "bedrock" below and attached to each bracket. They then tightened or lifted the bracket up against the footing to insure there would be no further damage to the house. (With careful consultation with Brent as the job progressed, we ultimately decided not to try to lift the house back to its original position because of the risk of further damage in doing so, choosing instead to prevent further settling.) Brent and his crew used what must have been acres of heavy duty plastic to cover our belongings, protect the floor, separate the work area from our living area, etc. for what turned out to be a difficult and dirty job. The men broke up the concrete with jack hammers and carried out what must have been thousands of pounds of broken concrete in buckets, up a long flight of stairs to the waiting 10 ft. trailer outside (3 or 4 trailer loads). With hand shovels, they then dug out soil enough to gain access to the footing resulting in large piles of dirt all over the plastic protected basement floor. Three piers also had to be placed along one wall of a finished lower level bedroom requiring pulling back carpet/padding. The carpet in the room as well as ingress and egress was well protected. In order to place the piers underneath the 2 fireplace footings, Brent and crew had to also dig holes on the exterior as well. In the case of 2 of those piers, they had to hand dig 10 to 12 ft. deep holes underneath a screened porch decking floor. Once all the piers were placed and the soil returned to its previous home, concrete was poured and troweled to replace that which had been removed. This phase was done all in one day and that day was finished off by the men removing all the plastic, remaining dirt, vacuuming the floor and carpet and then washing the exposed floor surface. Brent also inserted small metal "benchmarks" around the perimeter of the basement walls for the purpose of answering any future questions about wall movement. Because of the way our house was constructed --- much thicker slab floor and footings than usual -- this job was considerably more difficult than expected. These men worked constantly and incredibly hard for six long 8 to 10 hour days and were always pleasant, courteous, and helpful. Brent not only invited but encouraged us to do frequent walk throughs of the work in progress, take photographs, ask questions (which were always candidly answered), etc. A week later when we discovered that the soil underneath the screened porch floor needed to be rearranged in order to direct rain drainage away from the house wall, Brent and his crew very pleasantly returned to our site, after a long day of working another job, and took care of the issue. Brent had made sure that we knew to call him if we discovered any problem and he promptly followed through by taking care of this issue. Kyle Walter came back out to ask for our feedback as to how things had gone and inspected the finished product himself. Throughout this whole experience, phone calls have been answered promptly, questions answered, concern shown for our comfort and satisfaction, etc. We were so favorably impressed with Kyle, Brent, and their crew, the excellent communication, quality of work and so on. While Thrasher Basement still has to return to inject PolyLevel underneath the newly poured concrete to insure level support of those new areas, I am certain we can count upon them to fulfill their contract.
Description of Work: Analyzed widening expansion joints and cracks in the basement floor, basement walls as well as main floor walls of our 24 year old house. Educated us as to the possible remedial actions and then placed 50 push piers to prevent further damage.

I felt that their sales pitch was a little aggressive and long winded (2 hours), and it was like pulling teeth to get them to even bid what I wanted done. Every bid included a $2500 sump pump and waterproofing the whole basement, instead of what I wanted done. I chose not to have them do the work, but I felt like they would have done a good job... I just felt oversold. I don't need a $2500 sump pump. Everyone was very nice and professional, though.

Salesman was genial, and even though it is his job to put the client at ease, he was still better than many salesmen I've seen in the past. He gave me a range of information on the various options, and even though the information was furnished by the company, it was still nice to see some of the details on what their products did. Since the cost was reasonable, I signed up to have the geoanchors installed along the wall. The only thing I really disliked is that Thrasher does the typical 'we'll give you X percent off if you sign up today' high pressure sales tactic. Other than that, everything was totally above board. Their measurement and billing was all computerized, so you could get a fully itemized list of what they were doing. Installation went well it appears. I was at work so I didn't see the details, but my wife had no complaints. The anchors are exactly as promised and the installers arrived when they said they would and the job took the amount of time predicted. I also got a letter from Thrasher offering to replant the portions of my lawn damaged by the installation process (these spots were really quite small, a few augered holes is all). Which was a nice touch.
Description of Work: Had a basement wall that was bowing significantly due to improper drainage from a former owner. Basement wall was an unreinforced concrete block wall, typical to houses from the era (1954). Thrasher came in and provided a range of options as to what we could do to bring the wall back to structural soundness. In the end we chose to use Geoanchors. They are essentially large metal plates anchored to the wall with another plate about 6 feet from the foundation in the dirt. The plates act to keep the wall pieces from moving further out of alignment and can be tightened conditions permitting to re-align the wall.

I cannot begin to tell you how impressed we were with every aspect of our experience with Thrasher Basement Systems. James Headlee kicked our experience off with a professional inspection. He followed that with a detailed conversation as to what our home's issues were and how to resolve them. Daniel Monroy was our crew leader and we could not have asked for a more qualified man to follow through with the recommendations made by James to fix our home's structural concerns. We quickly knew we were working with an extremely competent and trustworthy company. We?ve had work done on our home in the past and have consistently been disappointed with failure to follow through, inability to stick to original bids, and quality of work performed. James Headlee and Daniel Monroy restored our faith in humanity and showed us that there are good companies out there that will do well by you. LD and Jennifer Rettele

On the date of the installation of the Creep Stopper, the crew called to see if they could arrive a bit earlier in the day. It was fine with me, so the job was actually done earlier that I anticipated. They cut a 4" strip of concrete from our driveway and inserted the rubber joint (the Creep Stopper) and then proceeded to completely clean the entire driveway of all mud and debri from the job. The whole project took maybe 1 - 1 1/2 hours. They also sealed a minor crack in the basement wall. Both men were courteous and took the time to answer questions. This is a very professional company with great employees!! I would hire them again without hesitation!
Description of Work: Thrasher came out, evaluated several areas of concern, reassured us that the area of MOST concern to us was only cosmetic, identified the beginning of "street creep" and provided a solid plan of action to resolve the problem at the early stage it was at. The representative was completely up front with us and answered all of our questions. I must also add that this company begins the relationship based on good customer service. The appointment is set up in a courteous way, information is sent out prior to the first meeting and the representative was punctual!

I had some water leaking at a seem in my poured concrete basement wall. Jeremy Hultquist came out for the initial estimate. He was very thorough and disscussed all options and products that would help resolve my problem. Once the estimate was accepted, we set a date for the work to be done. The crew arrived on time. Once I walked through the details with the job "foreman" they started to work. The job was completed in the day and they area was clean and left in satisfactory order. Trasher crew showed up on time, took extra care in making share that area to be renovated was screened off from rest of house to keep out the dust. They installed a water drainage system, triple sump pump and protective water barrier in the unfinished portion of our basement as well as a water drainage system in the finished portion of our basement. We have been plagued by water seepage in the spring and summer and had exhausted all other professionals in determining the cause. Matt Smith was the estimator and was very knowledgeable about the cause and the solutions. We were impressed by the warranty for this system and the annual maintenance package (cost was very minimal). Work was done as promised and everything was left very tidy and clean.

The addition that was placed on our house prior to our purchase was built on a concrete slab without any footings under it. Therefore it had was heaving with seasonal changes. Thrasher came in and excavated under the addition and placed seven helical piers to support the addition. A three foot deep frost footing was also placed around the perimeter. They cleaned up the work area and replaced everything the best that they could considering the temperature was in the 20's. |Everyone we worked with was punctual and professional. They explained everything up front including warranty on their work and the price. They were here for the estimate exactly when they scheduled with us. They were here on the exact day that they scheduled to do the work and were done when they stated they would be. After working with other companies/contractors this is a quality that I greatly appreciate. They called after the job was complete to make sure we were satisfied with their work. I do not know if their price was competitive because we couldn't get anyone else to even show up to give us their bid. But I would call Thrasher again if we ever required this type of work again, but I hope we don't. |

He explained things very well, telling me it wasn't uncommon. He was courteous, and his attitude was superb. He was so good, describing how even small cracks needed to be patched, that if anything more serious were to occur with my foundation walls or basement, Thrasher Basement Systems would be the first I called. So this man, taking his time to check out and advise me on my foundation, put Thrasher at the top of my list.

The project took two full days as planned. The city of Council Bluffs started a new law that an engineering drawing was required before the work could be done. The cost estimate for that was $300-$500 extra, but since the person providing the bid for the project did not know about that, the company absorbed the cost. We are very pleased with the work performed.

Structural reinforcing work performed in a timely fashion. I have no issues with this service but I would look elsewhere for masonry repairs as this does not seem to be their primary focus despite what the salesman might tell you. After some discussions about this issue they offered a reasonable solution which should allow us to obtain the masonry repairs at a later date, so overall we are satisfied with the job.

Very well! They were thoughtful about cutting the linoleum in the area where concrete had to be poured. They involved my husband in the repair every step of the way. The men went right to work doing the necessary work to insert rods in my basement wall. It would be difficult for me to decribe everything they did as it was what the specifications called for. However, Jason did show me the drawing and explained of what they were doing. Jason kept me informed of everything that was happening and I was free to solicit information from them. When they were finished, they filled the holes in my yard that had been used for inserting the rods into my wall and swept up my basement.

Fast, professional, courteous service. I especially appreciated the electrician's clear explanations of his work. I'm completely satisfied with the improvements made to my home's wiring. The new, well-placed switch boxes have made things noticeably more convenient.
