They came out and underbid their competition significantly. They did basically same day work. I don't think they were the cheapest around but I thought they did a good job and they did it quickly which was of interest because it was hot. I got 2 other quotes and the other guys were more expensive. They were excellent on responsiveness. I wanted it replaced that day so they called a guy in that was already on overtime and he did it that day. They were very responsive. They did a good job.

Our technician, Brian, was fantastic. Very helpful and professional. It happened to be the most expensive, single part on the unit so I wasn't thrilled about the price of the part. But once he showed me the board, I understood. I think the thing I liked the most was that I didn't get any salesmanship about trying to upgrade my whole unit. That's what you get from all those other big name companies in the area. I would definitely use Controlled Comfort again and I have already referred a friend to them.

I set up an appointment to get an estimate for a new furnace/ac. He showed up on time and was very professional and friendly. He offered to work up an estimate there which would take 10-15 minutes or email us the estimate. Since we had another appointment that evening we decided to get estimate via email. The problem is we never got the email and were never contacted by the company again. Not sure if they thought we were not serious about buying or what, but they were obviously not interested in our business.

I first called Controlled Comfort when the thermostat went out but the secretary told me that it wasn't covered under our maintenance contract. That's why I called the electrician. When the new thermostat didn't work, I called Controlled Comfort again to ask that our system be checked (they had checked it in June and all was fine). When the technician (#246-Rich Kallhoff) checked the system, he assured me that they did cover the thermostat. He programed it to the heat pump and replaced the blower motor capacitor. He only charged me for the part that needed replacing and not for the trip or the programming. Although the secretary/receptionist goofed up, the technician was very competent.

Great service. I called in the morning, they gave me a 20 min phone call so I didn't need to sit at home waiting. The tech showed up (was waiting for me) the same afternoon in August heat. He diagnosed the problem (checked input air temp, output air temp), cleaned the condensate tube. Then he disassembled the cover to the outside unit, did a thorough cleaning, and brought the freon up to correct pressure, and made sure it was cooling properly. Several days later, my 24 year old unit is working perfectly. I don't know how much other places charge, it seems a little pricey, but it's worth it to get it done right the first time. I didn't get a sales pitch on a new unit, but I did get info from him on prices and installation times when I asked. I will use this company again.

They are easy to schedule with. They are knowledgeable and friendly. They were on time and left the work area clean. They filled me in on the work they did and any recommendations they had for me.

Have used Controlled Comfort every year since 2003. They installed new central A/C in '03 when we bought the house, and have done annual HVAC checks for us since. Previous owners had a furnace installed by another company in 2002. The original company could not locate an intermittant problem during warranty period the first couple of years. Controlled Comfort came out after business hours when furnace would not stay lit, located the problem with a design flaw in a flexible tube that gathered moisture in a bend that created a blockage making the furnace react as if there was an air flow problem (safety feature). They were not authorized warranty rep for this furnace, but were very reasonable in what they charged. I was very impressed with the problem solving by re-routing the tube instead of just replacing parts as the others had done.

I was very happy with them. The overall experience was excellent. They were punctual, responsive, and professional. They are a little high in price, but you cannot beat their quality of work. I will continue to use this company in the future.

He was prompt on coming out to the house, very cordial and cognizant of not tracking into the house from outside. He tested and cleaned, and worked until the furnace was once again putting out heat!

I would HIGHLY recommend Controlled Comfort! From the estimate, to the install, to the follow up - no detail was overlooked! They installed a new furnace and A coil. They covered wood floors and took care to not bump walls and doors. They spent the entire day installing our furnace. The guys that did the work were professional and answered all questions. Their work was neat and they took good care of their surroundings while in our home! We look forward to calling them in the future with general maintenance issues or problems as they arise! My second floor has been uncomfortably warm at night this year. I thought my 35 year-old AC might be part of the reason and have to be replaced. I have lost my shade tree, so I thought that would also be part of the problem..... Perhaps the old AC wouldn't be able to handle cooling the upstairs that now gets direct sun. The technician checked all parts of the AC system including the air coming out from upstairs vents. He found a small problem in the AC unit itself which he repaired. He said the tests showed the system was working well. He thoroughly cleaned the system. At no point, was there any pressure to just throw out the old one and buy a new one. The company receptionist had explained that the service call/inspection/cleaning fee would be, for the most part, be deducted from the charge of installing a new system if this one couldn't be repaired. The technician was extremely knowledgeable and explained all the tests that had been run to see if the old unit was still able to work properly. He was very polite, professional, and helpful in finding ways to make the AC work better for the second floor. Though I understand that a 35 year-old AC compressor could fail at any time. I felt very comfortable in trusting this company.

Our heating unit was not operational. My parents had another service company coming out all winter. That person would be downstairs for about an hour and then leave. The unit would work for an hour and then stop working. However, when Controlled Comfort sent out their technician, he discovered that there was a huge problem. The first problem was that the filters have not been changed in a long while. It was clogged because they were using a lot of powder in the bathroom. The device was shutting down because it wasn’t getting enough air to operate properly. The second problem was that the condenser coil was covered with oil and clearly leaking. The other service company people were continuously putting new Freons to the unit. Controlled Comfort technician clearly told that we need not put new Freon every year which means that there was a big problem. Not only did the technician identified the problem and the fix, but he incredibly patient and accommodating with my daddy who has Alzheimer’s. He had my dad with him the whole time because my dad wanted to see what was happening and understand what the problem was. This guy spent 2 hours down there with my dad hover over him and never ever had a problem with it. They were exceptional. They came right out when they said they would and did what they said they would do. The estimate matched the price that they charged at the end. They were fantastic.

Overall it went well, the guy on the phone was nice and scheduling someone to come out was easy; I would have liked it if they had a working email address but I kept getting a bounce back on the ones listed on their website. I would go back to them if I needed any other service.

Every year I purchase a service contract for routine cleaning and service. They usually need to replace the filter and have showed us how to replace the filter ourselves (it's a unique type of filter). I never feel pressured to purchase anything or leery of what they tell me. They did quite a bit of work on a "crappy" furnace in a previous house. The furnace looked bad, but they told us we didn't need to replace it.

We have used Controlled Comfort on several occasions. This last time was a major job, installing a new air conditioning unit. I couldn't tell you the cost because my husband paid them but I can assure you they were priced fairly. All of our past experiences with them have been very favorable. They were always very honest, trustworthy and reliable. Their work is top notch. I would recommend them to anyone who asked.

They did a good job for me and they re not very expensive. They showed up on time and the man was professional and polite. I have recommended them to other people. I ve used them for along time and I trust them so I won t use anyone else.
