Prior to this experience all we had heard from others regarding their remodeling experience was horror stories. However, our experience was very enjoyable. Paul and Megan Bratetic worked with us throughout the process to ensure all of our desires were included. They are professional, fun, talented craftsman, attentive to detail, client focused, and perfectionists. We had looked at new houses that we like but purchasing them meant a significant increase in mortgage payments and the need to move. We liked where we lived and the bones of our home. However, our kitchen was small, outdated and cutoff from the living areas. We began to explore remodeling in January. Worked through several variations in the scope and design of the project and selected Bratetic Construction as our contractor in mid August. We got bids from 5 other contractors during the process. I was impressed with Paul from the very first contact. He was quick to respond, prompt for appointments, and communicated well. While at first glance Paul’s bids were not the cheapest he was always in the ballpark of other bids and his bids were more complete and detailed. Paul was flexible in allowing us to do some demolition work to save a few dollars. He was also flexible around the selection and purchase of materials. He even put the countertops on a separate contract because it had a long lead-time and we hadn’t finalized some of the other components. We had a requirement for the project to be completed before Christmas because all of our kids were coming home. Paul worked overtime to complete prior projects and get started on ours in late October. He try’s not to work multiple projects at once which is very nice in that he and his crew can focus and complete the project in a timely manner. We were VERY impressed with how Paul managed the work site. They arrived exactly when they said they would each day and communicated any change to the schedule. He kept our refrigerator plugged in somewhere in the space and ensured that we had a working sink and range throughout the entire 7 week process. Tools and supplies were neatly stacked and they would vacuum the work area every night. He would even come by in the evening to clean up if he had a sub in working late. Paul built the custom wood mantel from a picture of one we liked that I found on the Internet. He also built a couple custom storage units in the kitchen. One was a full height (12” x 93”) pull out pantry with adjustable shelves. The other was custom pull out shelves with Plexiglas bottoms for the cabinet above the refrigerator. These are great so you can see what is up there. We are now just like the references that Paul provided. When I spoke to them they could not say enough great things about him and had absolutely nothing negative to say. When people ask me about our experience I sound the same as these references. We have ideas for addition projects and we will definitely be calling Bratetic Construction when that time comes.

Description of Work: We are considering an addition and complete remodel of our kitchen and dining room. After reviewing many companies on AngiesList I emailed Bratetic Construction to see if they would be interested in biding on the addition portion of this project. Paul responded to my inquiry within an hour! We setup a time for him to come out and discuss the project. He was prompt, very friendly and offered suggestions. He even indicated that he thought they could do the work without interruption to our existing kitchen. Paul did take 4 weeks to get his estimate back to me but he kept me posted on the status via email so I would know what to expect. Paul's bid was very competitive to others I received. It will be a while before we are able to actually execute on this project but Bratetic is definitely in the running for this job.

It took waaay longer than he told us initially. He was spreading himself too thin with another big job , and our took the back seat! That would have been nice to know upfront since we had a deadline. Pretty pricey, but he does good, solid work, is trust worthy and an all around great guy. Scruples in a contractor, novel concept. Oh, yeah, he's coming back.

We called and left a message with all of the details/requests above. After a week, we still have not heard back from them. We are not sure if it too small of a job or if they are too busy to even return our call, but we never heard back from them.

Paul and his crew arrived on time and ready to go. They removed the old doors, and installed the new doors. They did a very nice job. The patio door was custom ordered as the wrong size (my mistake) but they were able to make it work and it looks wonderful. I was very impressed with Paul's professionalism as well as the professionalism of his crew. They hauled away the old doors for me as well as cleaned up after the work was done. I will definitely call Bratetic Construction again when I have more remodeling work to do.
Description of Work: Replaced my front door, front screen door, patio door, and patio screen door.
