they did a great job, no damage to house or yard. Took away all the limbs and cleaned up nearly all small branches. My only criticism would be communication ahead of time. I called to follow up on a Thursday or Friday, and found out they would be there the next Monday. Removal worker informed me when asked, the stump removal usually follows about a week or so later (wasn't informed on that and 7-10 days later those disappeared - but also good clean up. I would use them again.

I had no trouble with them expect postponing the services due to snow which I realize its not the company's fault. I've used this company before and they cleaned after work was completed but this time I feel they could've cleaned up better.

There was a small glitch in scheduling the stump grinding, but everything else was done as agreed -- and with no issues. Their office staff was also very professional compared to a couple other places we contacted.

I scheduled an appointment and took time off work to be there. They were a no show.

Contracted Terry Hughes Tree Service after a branch was hanging over our garage in June, 2014. They gave me an estimate for over $750 or so and agreed to trim entire tree, which was written on the estimate itself. Hughes Tree Service came and cut the most obviously broken branch but left other barren branches both in the general area and all around the tree. I asked them to come back to look at this, calling the arborist several times and leaving messages, and as far I know, they never did. I paid $350, and within a couple of months, another large barren branch fell on my garage. I called, sending a photo of the branch on my garage, and they did nothing. I finally asked to talk to the owner, Stacy, and he very rudely raised his voice and told me that he would write off the remaining balance, but they would not return to trim my tree or to fix my garage, and not to call his company in the future.

Two large leads were removed from this tree and except for the obvious large portion of the tree missing, you could not tell that they were even there after they left. The tree is surrounded by s large hosta bed and low voltage lights and not even one stem was broken on a hosta plant. These are real professionals, and not just some guys that decided to call themselves tree trimmers!

As usual they did a great job. A good company to work with although their reputation is such that they sometimes can get overwhelmed with work. In this case it was so late in the season that weather also kept them away for a while. The estimate was done October 16th of 2013 and the work had to wait until January 15, 2014. They are all very helpful, friendly, easy-going people and are so good at what they do lots of people use their services. So sometimes one has to wait a bit.

The guys did a great job again following the instructions Todd gave when he did the estimate on April 17th of 2014. The work was then completed within 2 weeks by April 30th. I have never had any problems with this company, their workers, or their work and clean-up. They are a very good company to work with and they seem to have a bunch of people who really know what they afre doing with trees. Typically they send a certified arborist out ahead of time to see what really needs to be done and to help the customer underdstand. They are the best in town.

Great friendly crew here over a two day period. Easy guys to work with.The estimate was given on July 19th, 2013 but the work couldn't get done until September as there were lots of downed trees in the city and the Hughes guys were very busy. They always go out of their way to make sure customers are completely satisfied with the work. Hughes is a good company to work with.

I shopped around with other tree service companies. Their price was very competitive. Terry Hughes did a great job cleaning up after the service. They were also very responsive whenever I called with a question. I've used them in the past and will continue to use them going forward.

On 28 April, Todd gave us an estimate for the removal of a yew and a redbud tree. On 6 May, Eric and another person cut both yew and tree. On 14 May, Nick grinded both stumps. All was done professionally. We contacted this company as we had been very pleased with prior work done.

I couldn't wait to go immediately to Angies List to review this company. The were very professional, friendly, as well as did a wonderful job with trimming my tree. They raked the yard and made sure every twig was picked up. In fact I think it looks better now than before they came. I know the tree is old but want to keep it as long as I can. Todd, who wrote the estimate, gave me the choice of trimming it or taking it down. There was no pressure which I really appreciate. He also left me a list of reasonably priced trees that they stock and plant. I will definitely recommend this company.

Got a reasonable estimate at the scheduled time--he knew his business. Work performed in a professional manner by two skilled arborists who cleaned up after the job and asked for our OK before they left! Have schedule Hughes for another job.

First Todd came and gave us an estimate of the work we wanted; he also noticed that we had bagworms and he suggested that they be removed and bushes sprayed by a product from his company which was done within a week; the second crew came on 25 Sep to prune bushes and one tree and to remove one tree and two big bushes; the 3rd crew came early Oct to grind the stumps. Everyone was very professional and friendly and answered questions which we appreciated very much. They cleaned after the work was completed. Also we would like to acknowledge our contact with Ms. Marge from the Hughes Tree service office; she was very accommodating to our needs. We would recommend this company.

They did a nice job of trimming the lower branches and thinning out the upper branches so the wind can get through.

They were here a little early, and started working on time. They did a wonderful job. So quiet I forgot they were here a couple of times. When they were done the trees looked so nice, and there was not one leaf or twig in the yard for me to pick up. They trimmed a little tree for me that I had not asked on the contract. Very polite and when I got the bill it was less than the estimate. I would and have told many people about them.

The estimate was done within days of the request. The company called 2 days before the appointment to notify me of the pending work. They trimmed the dead limbs off of a redbud tree and trimmed a tall birch tree that was too close to the house. Both trees were trimmed appropriately. The job foreman answered all of my questions and all of the limbs and debris were removed from the lawn. They did a fine job and I would use their services again.

The bid they initially gave us for the amount of work we needed was lower than it should have been, the elder Mr. Hughes was still working back in the early 90's. When his son saw the bid, he was surprised how low it was, however he honored the bid. They did such a good job and cleaned up so nicely, we gave them an extra large tip to cover some of their costs.

You don't even know they were there. You only notice the tree looks better. They clean up well and all you need to do is call them.

Very well. They have taken care of our trees since 1997 and have done a fine job. They are professional and clean up after the job.

They came when they said they would. We weren't here when they came so we assume they sprayed our trees. They will have to come out next spring to treat worms. I will use them in the future.

The work itself was very good, fast and professionally done. I was quoted a cost of $195 per hour. Since the truck was half full when they came, they had to stop to go empty the truck which took an hour. When I received the bill, I was charged for 1.5 hours instead of the one hour of work they did. I called and asked that the bill be adjusted. When I received no return phone calls, I sent a letter after waiting one week. After a month, I received another bill with late charges added. I sent a check for $195 along with a copy of my letter and the invoice. After another month went by and my check had not been cashed nor my letter answered, I called and asked why my check had not been cashed. About a week later my check was cashed and I have yet to receive any reply to my letter. I am surprised at the treatment since I have been a customer of theirs for two years. I have not had any problems with them on previous occasions and have recommended them to others.

This company was very dependable and showed up when they said they were coming and did everything that was on the estimate. I would defiantly hire them again. I found the price to be very reasonable and the company is insured.
