They do a good job of selling themselves. As the project neared a year and was no where close to completion, things came to a head and they left the job. A finisher was willing to come in and complete things, but thank goodness he is an excellent contractor. He has corrected many structural problems left by these guys, but some of them I am left to contend with for the rest of my life. They caused major problems by not reading blueprints correctly (I have a laundry closet not deep enough for the washer and dryer and an exterior door not centered on the porch slab), did not communicate with sub contractors in a timely fashion (had a hard time getting painters, tile guys, etc scheduled because they were never notified that they had the bid), a floor left with a two inch drop that wasn't corrected with basement jacks, over-purchasing of supplies that are not returnable, blew in attic insulation but not level, poured sidewalks that are already cracked and dropping, the list goes on and on. My biggest mistake was to not fire them when my husband requested it early on in the project. Other contractors have estimated that the project should have taken 9 months.

A project that was suppose to take 5 weeks is now going on 9-10 weeks. I know that it is hard to get all the "subs" lined up but isn't that what the general contractor is suppose to do and why you pay him? Their work is good. I just wish they worked harder at getting everything done on a more timely basis.
