We hired Gerst to paint the exterior of our house, and we are extremely happy with the results! Our lead painter, James, was very meticulous and took great pride in his work, making sure everything was done right from beginning to end. He went above and beyond when an unexpected issue came up with our project, which we really appreciated. We would not hesitate to use Gerst in the future.

Two painters came everyday as promised and completed the project on time. They were professional and willing to accommodate changes as requested. The quality of the painting was excellent.

I spoke with the owner and another person at Gerst about my project. I was told I would get a call back to confirm a date for someone to come out and look at the project for a bid. I waited a week and there was no follow-up. I no longer accept this from a contractor. My time is as valuable as yours. If I can't get a call back after I've spoken to someone in great length about my project I wouldn't want to deal with a started project, no one showing up, no one communicating.

Andy Farrell of Gerst Painting arrived on time every day, carefully covered our carpeting and hard wood floors. He was careful with clean up and left the unused paint. Easy to work with. Very experienced and willing to share paint tips and ideas.

A few issues arose with the quality of the work of the crew assigned to paint the exterior but Scott did the interior and he was phenomenal. The folks in the office, particularly Diane, are wonderful. Gerst managers and owners really seem committed to please the customer.

Ron, the representative was very courteous and helpful. Jose and his painter were very courteous, professional, and talented. Their work was impeccable!! I highly recommend using Gerst painting.

Excellent. They did a beautiful job. They were clean and finished ahead of schedule. The price was exactly as quoted. Quality Work.

The estimator was very prompt and professional and they submitted a written estimate to do all the painting but the price was at least $2,000 more than we had budgeted. We looked for alternatives and found a company who would do the work for $2,000!!! If their estimate had been less than $3,000 we probably would have hired them.

It was good. I would refer them to anybody. Good service, they were on time and when they made a mistake on one of the walls they fixed it in the process. They are someone that I would highly recommend because of high quality and customer service. We had five other quotes and they were very competitive and they matched and beat any other prices.

I was very pleased with the service I received from Gerst. The painters, Ben and Jonathon, were great. They worked very hard to make sure the house got done before our early cold snap happened. They worked the entire weekend before it happened. They were very courteous and discussed any concerns we had. It is very refreshing to deal with a company that does what they say they will do. They also told us what time they would show up each day and were here at that time, if not earlier. They did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. Ben even made an extra trip out to make sure we got the left over paint! I will definitely call them the next time I have painting to be done.

Very pleased. Mike Gerst stopped over to discuss and confirm color selection. He looked at my color choice and sample board in many ways. I learned a lot from him. This service is invaluable. The painter, , Wayne was very careful with our hardwood floors. The project spanned over 4 days due to a winter storm. Prompt communication as the roads were quite slick. The wallpaper removal was tough coming off even though it had been sized. Painter did a very good job of clean up every day. I assumed that the switch plates would be painted too. The painter advised that this was not in the estimate. Angie's members should clarify this when getting an estimate. The kitchen looks bright and great. I will call them again.

The rep arrived on time -- very punctual -- very professional and nice. I felt really good about possibly hiring the company until he gave me the bid. Over $1,000 to paint one room -- and not even a full-size basement! They would supply the paint and the services of a and quot;color consultant' -- and then estimated up to four days for the project. I'm sure they do great work if you don't care how much it costs. I'm glad I took time to shop around. I hired someone who completed excellent work in 1 1/4 days and for one- fourth as much money.

I enjoyed working with this very professional company. Julie the paint consultation was fabulous I couldn't find the color so she mixed colors three different times to find the perfect color for us. She was creative and also helped me pick out a faux texture from another company that she thought would look great in the kitchen, Gerst is doing the base coat. She really wanted it to look great. It wasn't just about the money. The paint crew was very nice, always cleaned up every day and most important, wanted every thing done to perfection. We have high ceilings with some bad cracks and it now looks great. It took about 6 1/2 days but the guys made sure they cleaned up to make sure we were not put out. Julie came ever day to check on the color and make sure I was happy with everything. We will have them next year to do the bedrooms..

Gerst rep visited our house and walked the project and retuned an estimate within 48 hours. Then a representative also helped select the new color of our house. Wish we had more and quot; foundationand quot; as to basics of what to expect and concerns ie dark colors etc. make sure you call out concerns ie...caulking etc. my major concern was two coats first sprayed and rolled and 2 nd sprayed ...well in the back of the house there were several areas which could not have been rolled on the first coa....hummmm they re - coated the entire rear of the house but still makes you think...the work did come with a warranty and they ( great ) has been VERY accommodating with spare paint also supplied

From the estimate, to the color consultation, to the actual painting-all people and work were outstanding! I would recommend this company to anyone who wants quality work, done efficiently and with a smile!

Drywall work on basement was perfect! painters showed up on time and finished in 2 days. Excellent details to cover everything not being painted.

I have to call others and get the job done. There are people much better and cheaper than this company.

From start to finish, the people of Gerst were professional and responsive. When I called for a bid, the company promptly scheduled an appointment, and the estimater arrived on time and provided the written estimate with great detail in a timely fashion. The company required only a reasonable deposit to book the job. The copmany offered the services of the color consultant, Julie, who had some good ideas for adding depth to the front of the house through color on the window frames and shutters and who noticed some areas that needed a touch of paint to improve the aesthetics of the exterior. Also, Gerst has an employed carpenter, so the company was able to give me the siding bid at the same time as the painting bid. Other companies I received bids from required me to contact, get a bid from and contract with the carpenter separately. I obtained my estimate early in the year and so when painting season began, I did nudge them a bit to get a firmer date for the start of the job. Once the job was started, the personnel were very professional, courteous and responsive. The job was done on time and done well. I had an issue with how one of the new siding boards looked and it was promptly replaced. Mike Gerst came out at one point to monitor the progress on the job. After the job was finished, a painter came back promptly to do a few touch ups that were needed. I also had the company come back out to paint a window canopy that was not part of the original work (Julie recommended I have it painted with the original job but I held off;Julie was right, it should have been painted). I am planning on doing some interior painting and will be calling Gerst.

I am very impressed with the quality of both work and services from Gerst Contracting/Painting, Inc.!!!!! The initial interview the estimator took 45-minutes with me. Ron explained every step of the project and why the company has lasted for so many years. *Other contractors didn't spend anymore than 5-minutes to give me an estimate of work.*On the day scheduled to begin work, Scott was here right at 8:30 a.m. to begin work. All holes and imperfections on the garage walls were all fixed. The ceiling was painted white; walls, a dark grey. Two coats were applied. Work was finished in 2 1/2-days! Everything looked great!My sub-contractor who applied a decorative epoxy garage floor...his worker when grinding the existing floor streeked the new paint job. Gerest still came out to repaint a portion of the walls...back-billing the sub-contractor for me.I am Very Impressed with Gerst Contracting! I have a major project coming-up next spring involving: sheetrock repair, texturing and painting. I will certainly have Gerst bid on the job!

The crew consisted of one painter, James who painted the first few days and a second painter, Miguel who painted along with James for the last two days. They arrived early each day, were very professional, and disrupted our normal day to day routine as little as could be expected. They moved all furniture, covered everything properly, taped everything off, etc. There were a couple of minor issues...nothing big at all. A drip of paint on a chair that they were able to remove easily, some drier paint chips left on the kitchen floor which cleaned up easily, and an admittedly fragile plastic clip for a valance that was broken. None of these were major issues and in fact nowhere near the horror stories I've heard from other people who've had their houses painted. We were very pleased with Gerst as a company and the job they did. They definitely have a well-deserved reputation.

Very good experience all the way from estimator to color coordinator to painter. Easy to do business with. Clear proposal/quote. The painter arrived on-time each day and performed quality work (paint prep, drywall repair, and painting). I am sure I could have shopped this around to other parties, but time and quality are motivators for me. Good job.

I used them about a month ago. They gave it a high quality finish. They were professional and responsive.

The owner of the company Mike Gerst, came out to give us an estimate on painting our 2300 sq foot home (walls and trim). There were some nail holes and cracks, etc that were going to need be repaired too. Granted this was a pretty big job but the estimate that he came back with was frankly jaw dropping. Over $21,000 to do the job. I am quite sure that he does quality work but his estimate was seven times higher than the next highest estimate (I received three estimates). The other estimate was within about $500 of the second estimate so I figured they were almost equal. Needless to say I didn't hire them to do the work.

There was a lot minor sheetrock repairs. The fixed a lot minor ceiling problems as well. They did a good very job.

They were pretty expensive. Everything was professional and they were timely but they were on the high end. I don't doubt that they do quality work.
