McKinnis Inc

I must warn you about my experience working with McKinnis Inc on an insurance roofing job. I assigned them the job on June 1, 2018, but the nightmare is not even close to being over. They did work without authorization from State Farm and placed a lien on my property for $23,000 above what was authorized. Currently they will not cooperate with US Bank and State Farm to finish the job even though it prevents them from getting paid and me from selling my house. The buyers from Elkhorn have been forced to relocate to temporary housing for months now waiting for McKinnis to finish and remove its lien.

Met with salesman, in my home twice, once last fall (2016)and once this late winter (2017) and have not been able to get a detailed price for the work I needed done (it's now mid May)

They came out to give a roof estimate. Arrived several weeks after they said they would be here. Then stood in the front yard and looked at the roof from there. No measurements and never left the side walk. Said he'd get back with me in a few days.....that was over a year ago. Never heard from them again.

The McKinnis representative was eager to set up the initial appointment and stated that they would "handle everything" with our insurance company, as they were recommending sanding and repainting hardboard siding that was damaged during the 2014 hail storm, rather than replacing it. I was assured that it would all be taken care of, since his supervisor was a licensed adjuster with years of experience in the industry. Day of the appointment to meet with the insurance adjuster, the representative was unable to attend, but no problem, since the "expert adjuster" was going to be there to take care of everything. Results came back from our insurance company and, sure enough, they increased our payout - by $500. Called our representative at McKinnis to ask what happened, and he said that we would need to set another appointment to go over things. His supervisor, who originally said it would be no problem rolled over when the insurance company pushed back. Never heard back from them again to set the appointment. I understand that there may be only so much that can be done with insurance, but I feel that the representative misrepresented his abilities and that of his supervisor to get the business. Then, when things aren't looking so sunny, we're off the radar.

They were great, the windows and the workmanship matched the existing windows perfectly. The window warping made the existing windows look brand new.

We had a bad hail storm in Blair last summer and people are still waiting for roofs and siding but mcKinnis did ours in a timely manor considering the worst ones first and doing the others as soon as possible. I've been very satisfied.

Once they got started, the project went quickly and well.

They were very professional, excellent quality and good follow up. The gentleman who owns the company has been the director of the roofing association in Obraca. It is an honest company and worked very well with the insurance company.
