Finished Edge Drywall Systems

They did an excellent job.

We had them finish hanging the drywall, we did most of the basement ourselves. They charged about $400 for that labor. They were then to finish the drywall process. They came in late afternoon and worked for a couple hours every day. They approximated a few days to finish, which ended up taking a few days longer than that. At first glance it looked like a good job, but once we started priming the drywall we noticed how bad it really was. There were lots of spots where the drywall was not smoothed completely. The outlets were not covered to the box, so we ended up having to buy extra large plates to cover the holes. We used rounded corner bead on the windows, which was done very poorly. They left a HUGE MESS on the floors, on light switches, outlets, light bulbs. We spent hours scraping floor before the carpet was laid. We were responsible for materials and had purchased plenty, but were told we didn't have enough. Looking at what was left after they bought more, there was a lot of waste that could have been used wisely. I do not recommend them, spend the money for a more reputable company. That was our mistake, we looked at cost, rather than using a bigger company who may have charged 500-1,000 more.

Bryan came by and gave a bid which was actually the same bid as other contractors. However, Bryan said he would re-texture other sections of my ceiling that had been patched before which he noticed didn't match the rest of the texture work. Now that the texture has dried I can also see that the color of texture he used matches perfectly with the other areas of the ceiling. This in particular has saved me a lot of time and money because the spots he fixed that I didn't ask him to have prevented me from having to paint the ceiling. Bryan was always punctual to our three encounters. When they arrived, they were courteous, quick and professional. The job took approximately 3 hours but was spread out over two days. The first day was just for placing putty on the ceiling and the second day was to do the actual texture work. Most of their time was spent prepping for the job due to the messy nature of spraying the texture. Luckily, the clean up was a breeze and none of my personal belongings were damaged. All in all, Finished Edge did excellent work. I would highly recommend them for this type of job again.

They gave me the estimate for their work and I had to buy the materials. I was planning on using them, but then I got an estimate from another guy and the price was much cheaper. I think that their price is kind of high. I believe I would use them in the future.

The job went very well for the price and I will use them again in the future.
