Excellent job...

Did a great job, but the Crew was a little sloppy and had some bad language.

There were inital delays due to mainly weather and number of projects under construction. Once work started, finished in time, described and inital bid. Happy overall with job.

The people I worked with through the whole process were excellent, caring individuals. The sales rep I initially talked to was excellent. He explained how the whole process would work, what the cost would be, and what work was to be done. He walked through the damage assessment and worked with my insurance rep so everyone would be "on the same page". There were a few problems which occurred while the work was being done and afterwards. While tearing off the roof, the workers continued working through a rain storm, causing water to leak through and damage the interior ceilings in 2 rooms. I contacted the owner of the company and he immediately responded and took full responsibility for the mistake. To make sure there was no damage to the attic area and insulation, he personally inspected both of my attics and took numerous pictures to show me that there was no permanent damage. He even offered to pay for another company to come out and do an independent inspection if I wanted. The roofing work was then completed without further incident. I belive that the quality of the final work was excellent. A few days later, the owner sent a painter to the house to repair and paint the damaged ceilings. The painter was also very considerate and professional with his work. There were a couple of times, however, when the painter did not call or show up as scheduled. This was a small inconvenience which we worked out eventually.The final inside painting was completed satisfactorily. Despite the mistakes made by the workers, I would still hire C & S again because of the personal service I received. The mistakes were handled in a professional manner by people who really wanted to "make things right" and satisfy the customer. Everyone I worked with really cared about me as a customer.

What I disliked is they told me they had their own workers and everything and a different company showed up to do my roof and that is not the way things were supposed to go down like the sales guy said. There was lack of communication between them and the company they sent out, they came on a day when there was an 80% chance of rain and they were like it was not going to rain until around two and that they would have my roof done way before then. They weren?t even supposed to be out here until Monday but they showed up on Saturday. They assured me that they would get it done and dried in and everything but the rain came early and they had everything off, when they were just putting paper down. They ruined my microwave because the turtle vent was taken off and the water was running down the roof into the vent where the microwave was. I had to several conversations with the owner, before he finally agreed to take the amount for a new microwave off the bill. When they got to the point where they were at the top for shingling, they were dropping the shingle bundles straight down and cracked one of my light fixtures. After having to fight for the microwave, I just threw my hands up on the light fixture because I went through h*** getting him to pay for my microwave. Then, their guys showed up to do the gutters and they said that the gutters was probably going to be subbed out, which I was fine with but I was not fine with the roof being subbed out and they knew that. I guess there was total lack of communication between the owner and the company. They were actually supposed to come out on that Friday and I waited from ten to twelve but nobody showed up. I had to call the owner to find out where they were and he said they will not be able to make it that day and he wasn?t even planning to call me and I was waiting around for him. When they did the final bill, there were a few sheets of plywood that had to be replaced and I had to pay for that because insurance wouldn?t pay for it. The way they did the bill, the insurance company was going to get the money for the microwave and not me. Therefore, I had to sit there and take about three hours of my time to figure out everything the insurance had paid me so far, what I actually paid them when he came to my house to collect the first payment and what the bill was. They didn?t itemize anything else; it just showed the total amount of money, other than the microwave damage and the insurance part of it. I had to argue with them for about four, five days until I finally got an invoice that was acceptable to submit to the insurance company. They did some pretty shoddy flashing too. At first the company C&S roofing sent out to do my roof didn?t even know that new flashing was being put on, so I had to point out to the guys that the flashing was sitting right here. Then when they put the flashing on, where it overlaps each other, It was sticking up a good half an inch over the other one and I said water could have gone in between that space and could have damaged it. So then, I had to argue with them to come back and fix that where they replaced the piece of fascia after the roof was put on, which peeled up the shingles and I had to get them to go back up there and rework that a bit. They did do the things that I asked them to do but these are things that I shouldn?t have had to point out. The sales man said, he would be there the day the roof would be put on. I called him and told him that they were ripping off my roof and he was shocked as he knew nothing about my roof being on the schedule for that day. He stopped by for two seconds and took off. Overall, as far as the quality of work goes, I don?t see any leaks so far. There was a leak where the pipe that goes from the heater all the way up, they came out and they did something but it was still leaking after that during the next rainstorm and they told me I had to get my HVAC guy out. So I called them out and luckily I was able to get a new air conditioner because of the hail damage and they wiped away that $200 bill for caulking the rain halo on the pipe that C&S roofing could have done for me. It was a big mess. I was not extremely happy but I guess they are better than some companies are. They did discuss everything with me. So it is not like they shut down on me after things started going wrong, they did work with me but I believe they could have done a better job with communication with some of the work, because it was subbed out. I had priced it with a bunch of companies and their price was comparable, they weren?t the most expensive but they weren?t the cheapest either but it was paid by my insurance anyways. Maybe they do better work when they are working for people who are paying for their roofs and not the insurance companies. Beware, they were supposed to apply the Angies list discount and never did!!!! I believe the coupon is a scam as the salesman acted like he didn't know anyting about the discount but wrote on my agreement that he would ask the owner and apply it later. He never did! My salesman's name was Jeff.

C&S has been great through the whole process. Yes, I shopped around! (seven other companies). I chose C&S for many reasons- 1. Competitive prices 2. Ability to work WITH us throughout the material specifying process. 3. References they provided. 4. They weren't pushy! (didn't call everyday) 5. The installers followed all manufacturer installation guidelines. 6. Mike, the onsite foreman, was here to oversee the install, responded to ALL of our questions, and insured the crew performed. And last, the owner of C&S, Shane, was always available to answer ANY questions we had. In todays world it is hard to find an owner that cares about customers and not just profits. GRADE = A+++ Thank you C&S!

Scott kept me up to date on all aspects of the roof progress. He also found errors in the insurance made and contacted them to adjust the claim. The shingles were delivered on time and the job was perfect.

Overall, the project went well. There were some breakdowns in communication, but they were very responsive and completed the work to my satisfaction.

They did a great job. They went through our yard several times to make sure they got any nails in the yard. They finished the house in one day.

This company is awesome. I cannot think of anything they could have done better. They were knowledgeable, quick & quality work, affordable. They made our small hail disaster repair a non-event. Really good, both the field & office folks. They did our new roof & gutters.

Salesman was very responsive and personable. He gave me a good estimate for the work to be done. He also worked well with the insurance adjuster and my insurance company. Work started later than anticipated because supplier did not have the shingles I wanted in stock - and underordered shingles. Once work begun, workers were prompt and courteous. Work was done quickly and as promised. At times I had 2 work crews on my roof. Even the owner of the company was personally involved and on my roof supervising the job. The crews went over and above cutting away tree branches that were hanging over the roof and getting in their way. The job was completed to my satisfaction and I am very pleased with the solar tubes that they installed. I am very happy that I called C&S to do my roofing. I would recommend them for your roofing needs without hesitation.

They measured the roof and gave my husband an estimate. They then agreed to a start date. I came home one day and the shingles were in the driveway and the next day they were on the roof. It was pretty quick. Rick did the estimate and if he tells you he'll be there at a certain time, he'll be there.

The work turned out fine. They were fast and efficient. I am satisfied with the work.

We had a very positive experience with C&S. We obtained bids from four roofing companies and selected C&S based on positive customer reviews, as well as our interactions with them. They were neither the highest nor the lowest bid, but seemed to be the best fit for our project. They met our desired schedule perfectly, finishing within 2.5 days and before cold weather set in. In fact, they were able to work us in within a week of signing the contract. While on the job, the crew was prompt, professional and tidy. We've had several heavy rains since, and both roof and gutters (with covers) have performed well to date. Shane, the owner, was very responsive to our concerns about some leftover nails and dispatched someone without delay to go over the yard once more. We would use C&S again for other projects and recommend them without reservation.

They were very professional and worked hard to get us into the time schedule we wanted. They worked with our Insurance Company. They did everything they could to make us happy.
