Description of Work: I purchased an electric motor from Jemco with the understanding that I could return it if it did not fit my need. The motor was a very old used motor removed from a photocopy machine. I paid $35 for the motor which was a lot based on the fact that it was old and stripped parts from a photocopier. The motor ran in the store but made a noise (according to the salesman). I purchased on the basis that it was all I could get to fit my space provided. When I got to testing the motor at home it ran very hot (200F/ 93C) which exceeds recommended specs (40C above ambient temp). When I called them they were all in a meeting. I left a message with the front desk who told me they would call in 20 minutes. When I called back 3 times I was told they were in meetings. This is a retail store! I finally got through to the owner. VERY VERY rude on the phone. Had no time for me. Basically lied to me and told me the motor can run in excess of 200F. That was refuted by his employee when I called back as the owner put the phone down on me!! I was simply asking questions. Then the employee who took the call got rude and told me that if I wanted to return the motor there would be a restocking fee!! They want a restocking fee for an old motor that is not working!?? This is a company to be avoided. I have had other reports from people who have dealt with them and they seem to be very unpopular. Avoid at all costs.
