Century Builders

I've worked for a homebuilder before as well as been through the new construction process recently - and Century Builders has a lot of room for improvement in my book. The cleanliness of the job site is awful and when you live next door this is a big deal. Some of the different crews (whether they were actual employees or sub contractors I do not know) were also not very courteous - besides the parking in the neighborhood (only on one side of street - which they regularly disregarded and created congestion issues), the noise and time they started work was many time unacceptable. When an excavator is having a bucket switched out in the middle of January at 5:30 am and all I can hear is the banging of metal - not a happy camper. And at times loud work being performed past 10pm - also not a happy camper. I understand that a general contractor does not always have direct control over subs in the first instance when something happens - but they certainly should address the issue and make sure it never happens again. The quality of the build was also very poor in my opinion - the finish trim was obvious in it's deficiencies and I can't believe someone actually paid some really good money for that. I just hope that the homeowner corrects the issues that will undoubtably surface in the coming years - otherwise I'll be living next to an eyesore. * I also noticed this builder was featured in some kind of 'up and coming' article in a local Design & Living publication - what a joke, obviously nobody on that staff did their homework in research...yikes.
