The window well was constructed to code. 3/4 stone was provided for the bottom. A drain was provided to allow water to drain. I had to draw the building permit. A wall was torn off for the construction. The window opening was cut into the foundation. The window was specked for a brown window. A white window was installed instead! We were not happy about this at all. The rough in was completed to the outside. No green treated lumber was utilized on the outside of the building. We were given no option as to the type of material for the surround and its height above ground. No rough in was done inside of the basement family room. Studs were not replaced where they were torn out. Only a 2x6 was utilized for the window. The rest was left for me to complete. I am not happy with the job as completed on the inside as the rough in in the inside was not done. No insulation was put in the opening. No moisture barrier was supplied. No rough framing was provided On the outside finish, Clay was stacked up against the surround four inches above grade. Top soils should have been provided. Rock was left in the bushes and left for us to clean up. Overall the job was incomplete. The contractor did not care make the quality of work performed to the best of his ability. A good contractor would give a tour to show off his work. The workmanship is poor and not up to the capability that this contractor could even do. By the way, The inspector passed the egress window once we had to purchase a ladder and install it our selves. The contractor could care less of how the inspection went.
Description of Work: Constructed egress window.

The contractor used a jack hammer to crack the concrete floor so a drain field could be created around the building. The trench was created in two steps The hole was cleared and rock and black pipe with oles was installed in the trench. No barrier was installed to stop any silt from jamming up the pipe system. The trench was concreted over. A sump hole was created and the pipe was connected to the sump well. The work was incomplete as the last part was not filled with rock and concreted over. The sump pump was not connected to the drain pipe provided, thus the job was incomplete. The overall concrete job was not level in the family room though he did concrete a cracked floor chunk. He did patch some concrete an area I requested in the furnace room. He did not more than he had to.( I would have made the patch bigger). Overall, he did not use a saw to cut the floor because he said that it would create a bid mess and dust all over the home. His work was a lot better on this project as opposed to the Egress window and roof job he did for us. The work is in the details.
Description of Work: Create basement drain tile and sump hole.

.Material was cheap. A synthetic house wrap was substituted for the 15 LB felt tar paper which is industry standard. Two roof layers were removed. A three foot sheet of ice damming material was provided per code. Upon insistence of my brother in law rain gutter flashing was provided. (My brother in law was a lead foreman for a roofing company for twenty years.) The underlay of the roof was lacking some nails to to tie the sheets to the rafters in spots. This was never done, so the roof feels spongy in spots. The sheeting job is wavy. The cap peak is not straight. The shingles were brought up by hand and dropped on the roof. I would expect that some rafters were broken in the process. I see some waves that could indicate that this has occured. One rafter was repaired and sheeting replaced. The 2x6 was sistered with a 2x4 which is not structurally sound due to the snow on the roof during the winter. The Minot building inspector said that the broken rafter should have been sister-ed with two 2x6's I will have to pay another compny to inspect and repair bad rafters which could have been dealt with at the time the roof sheeting was exposed. These rafters were probably broke with shingles bundles dropped on the roof. The rotted facia was not replaced. Nails (4) driven in were exposed. Weaving of the shingle on vents was not properly done. The gutters were not cleaaned out at the end of the job. A few hours of time was spent caulking areas which had the possibility of leaking. To add insult to injury, the roof color was substituted for by the contractor because he had quoted a cheaper shingle.
Description of Work: Re-sheeted roof and tear off
