Tony was hired us a sub contractor for his customer. We spent $1,473.85 in labor, $800+ in parts, and when we presented him with a Quoted $2,200.00 bill he ignored it. AFTER 90 days, we finally got a hold of him. He argued us down to $1,615.51. He said he couldn't present a bill for $2,200 to his customer. Also he said the "Neighbors" of the customer told him that we were not there for the total ammount of hours we billed him for.We agreed to lower the bill because we wanted to get the Invoice OFF our books.
Then he said he wasn't responsible for the bill at all! That his customer needed to pay us. Even though Tony ordered the work and all the billing infomation was for him, and he was the one to haggle us down. Essentially, he argued this bill down for nothing.
When I finally got ahold of the customer, I explained that this bill was overdue and I apologized for the fact that Tony never presented the bill to the customer. The customer said he said verbatim "Tony always has issues he is difficult to deal with."I simply told the customer that this bill was seriously over due, and that we needed to be paid.
Between the labor, parts and time spent running down this payment we lost money doing this job for him.
