THE WOODCHUCK

Description of Work: We moved to west-central Minnesota in 2012 from Gaithersburg, MD. The move was not kind to our furniture--lots of gouges, rubs, dents, legs loosened and trim broken off. The Woodchuck is a small company, but they're good, so that means they're busy and it might take a little while to get your work done. It's worth the wait. I'd like to rate their quality as an A, but the furniture repair company we used in Maryland was a just a notch above the Woodchuck and it would be unfair to them to rate the Woodchuck as an equal. The Woodchuck is definitely in the same class, however, and I can't even put a finger on what it is that makes that slight difference in quality. They have a standard van for pickup and delivery so it took several trips to get all our work done--it's economical for them for most of their work, but the additional trips added to our overall cost for our repairs. They were able to fix some of the nicks and scratches on site, and took the rest of the work back to their shop for refinishing. They're friendly, professional, responsive, punctual, resonably priced and because they do quality work--not quick. They take their time to do it right, and do it well. They were very willing to work with us to schedule work to minimize our inconvenience. We would highly recommend the Woodchuck to anyone needing to have furniture repaired or refinished! If there's a better service in the F-M area, we didn't find it in our search! Before you give another company an "A" rating for quality, be sure to compare their work to that of the Woodchuck. I'm sure you'll find the Woodchuck to be superior!

Description of Work: painted cast iron antique wood stove

Description of Work: Damage to corner of a table in shipping. Split in wood and dented in the corner. I only hoped the split could be glued together. The surprise was not only did they repair the damage, they also cleaned up the whole top of the table (which had a few water-damaged spots)!
