The tech explained the age of my whole system and the expense of parts (which I later found out were not near as expensive as he quoted) and advised that I replace the whole system immediately. They sent out a "comfort consultant" to determine the best type of system for my home and i was quoted over $13,000. The consultant was unable to leave any information with me or email it to me within a couple days; rather I was supposed to make a decision at that moment. Another company came out and quoted me approximately $7,000 and a new system wasn't necessary at this time. I will never hire them nor recommend them again.
Description of Work: My a/c had froze up and coolant needed to be added.

Our furnace died on a cold afternoon and the first to be able to make it to the house was One Hour Heating and Air conditioning. The tech arrived within a couple of hours and poked around with trying to determine the cause of the failure. The tech tried replacing the flame sensor and then cleaning out the condenser reservoir and tubing. After failing to determine the cause of the outage after a few hours the tech blindly chalked it up to a bad secondary heat exchanger and billed me for the service call and flame sensor that he installed. He told me that I had a choice to replace the heat exchanger for $1100 or install a new furnace to replace the now 12 year old existing furnace. It was close to midnight and I wanted to discuss it with my wife so I asked to make the decision the following morning. My wife followed up the following morning stating that we would like to repair the exchanger instead of spending thousands on a replacement this near the holiday season. One Hour told my wife that someone would be there at 8:00 the next morning, which we thought meant a service tech to repair the furnace. My wife was impatient and called back to see if they could do it sooner, as we have 3 kids without heat, save for a few space heaters. Upon calling back my wife discovered that they had set up an appointment to have a sales rep come out to bid us a new furnace, not a repair. They stated that if we wanted a new furnace they could do it Friday, but if we wanted a repair they couldn't help us for about a week. This wasn't acceptable so we called around to find a HVAC company that would be able to do it that next morning. A second company came in and within 20 minutes determined it was the condenser tubing that was still clogged, and had the furnace running within the hour. The supervisor at One Hour did get involved early to try to remedy the situation, and after learning that the original work was not done correctly as well as the problems with trying to replace instead of repair the unit offered to refund us the work done originally. The supervisor was apologetic and said he would try to improve the services in the future should we choose to go back to them.

Our furnace died on New Years Eve. Several companies in town were backed up with emergency calls and we came across this company as we moved down the list. The service man, Craig, showed up within the stated time frame and was the nicest person ever. Once it was determined the furnace couldn't be repaired (which I suspected before they came) Craig arranged for another company rep to visit us on New Years Day. He also went to his shop and brought space heaters back to us since we had no heat whatsoever. The rep showed up on time and was very friendly and helpful. We purchased a furnace through this company and all work was completed exactly when they said it would be. Technicians were polite and professional.
Description of Work: Installed a new furnace in January, 2014.

I wasn't too happy with this company. I was told when they were finished with the inspection that everything was fine with my system. When the first big snow storm of the hit my heating unit shut off on me. I called them up and they came out right away to look at it. It turned out that the serviceman forgot to screw in a screw and thats why it wasnt working.
Description of Work: I had them do an inspection on my heating & a/c unit.
