Description of Work: My house was destroyed by a fire on November 5. I went off a friends referral to hire this man. I got an estimate from him and another contractor. His was the lowest. I hired him in December. Things started out fine, but soon ended. He argued back and forth with me about the way I wanted things done in my house. I purposely purchased an older home so that I could have a claw foot tub and hardwood floors. I specifically told him the claw foot tub in my first floor bathroom was not to be removed under any circumstance. When I checked on my house I saw that my claw foot tub had been removed and replaced with a plastic tub. I demanded it be returned and he refused to give it back. I later found out that he sold it on Ebay. I reported it to my insurance as stolen by the contractor. Mr. Kautzman came to me asking for a forward on his payment and said he would have my house finished in a week. I foolishly advanced this money to him and he disappeared. He would not return my phone calls, my adjuster’s or the mortgage company’s calls.
