Description of Work: This company contacted me 4 times saying they were coming to give me a bid on my roofing job (after I contacted them wondering why they had not given me a bid yet or shown up to look things over). They never showed, I never rec'd a bid, decided to contact another roofer that did what they said they were going to do, when they said they would do it!

Description of Work: roof redone shingles replaced. Tried redo flat roof but was not totally capable of the work. Also shingled garage but failed to make sure sub contractors finished the rain gutters.

Description of Work: Dave McCrackin gave me an estimate to re-shingle the roof of my house on May 14, 2014. In the estimate he clearly detailed what he would do and gave me an approximate date when the job would be done. He did exactly what he promised. He used a specialty plastic underlayment instead of tar paper which is much more durable and helps prevent leaks. He replace two of my "whirley- bird vents" with long lasting commercial ones. The jobsite (my yard) was exceptionally clean when he completed the job and the job was completed in the timeframe he quoted. He alerted me two days prior to starting the work so I could plan my day accordingly. J & J Repairs and Roofing did an outstanding job and I referred him to my neighbors that live to the west of me. I would certainly use them again.

Description of Work: J&J did a complete re-roof, removing all the old roofing materials, replacing rotten wood, vents and flashing. Dave McCracken, owner, appears to run a tight ship, and he preaches quality work. He uses a large crew who look like they know what they are doing--not a bunch of scraggly general laborers. The shingles were a high-quality laminated shingle from Certainteed. The roof looks great, and it was completed in about eight hours, start to finish. When I got home I found the yard spotless; no one would know that the house had just been re-roofed by looking at the ground. Not only was the job done timely, but it was started when I was told it would start, even though it is clear that this is an extremely busy roofing company. I definitely could have found someone to do it for less money, but it would have taken some footwork to get the same quality for the price. It's probably more roof than I will need, but for me the peace of mind was worth a little premium, and I was already familiar with J&J before I hired them.

Description of Work: DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR. They are: UNPROFESSIONAL, INMATURE, DISRESPECTFUL, RUDE This spring we had a leak in a roof, most likely from and ice dam. After getting quotes from several contractors we decided to go with J&J. The quote was middle of the road, the owner seemed experienced and we they would be able to fix the leak in a timely manner. Additionally, the work came with a one year warranty. The original work was done in a timely manner, however the roof continued to leak. When J&J was contacted there was never an effort to come back to the house to take a look at the work and see why to roof was still leaking. Communication was made for over six weeks. Every time J&J was contacted they said they would come out and never showed. When asked why they didn't make it several excuses were made, even stating that they had bigger more important projects.
