Description of Work: Used foam injection to jack up a section of front entry sidewalk. Left hydraulic fluid spots on driveway. The sidewalk was not made level. Credit card info was stolen after it was used to pay for work. Employee who took the card asked for last 4 of my Ssn, stating I had to provide it as it was a "chip" card. 2 days later card was used out of state by unknown parties. I have since learned such a request is not correct. Fraud reported to credit card company and local police. Not a positive experience.

Description of Work: The service provider is expensive and left my lawn torn up, broke/removed a step from my basement stairwell, and disconnected my basement lights(possibly hoping I'd fall). One of the wall anchors is crooked and can't be tightened to do it's job. When I arrived back at my house weeks later I found that they left the front door of my house open. Too bad I wasn't able to supervise their work for them, but I have my own job and it's not babysitting.

Description of Work: Salesman sold the job wrong and the price changed several times. Scheduler scheduled the job six weeks later than salesman promised and when crew showed up the foreman said the job was still wrong and a different bracing system was required, so the job was delayed another five weeks. In the mean time I was stuck paying for 3 months for three storage pods in my yard with my basement contents. Our furnace was in storage and we had temperatures in the 30s. Our water heater was also out but they agreed to pay to have it put back in while we waited. Don't hire these guys.

Within a week of installing the drain tiles, I called and showed them where there were wet spots on top of the cement over one part of the drain tiles. They gave me a lesson on how long it takes cement to cure.... Then I called a short time later when I had 2 soaked walls in the corner near where they had the sump pump exit the house, and water shooting out of an electric socket. They sent another team, and found that, instead of sending the water to my back yard, they had the sump sending water 2 inches outside of my house- so it was coming back down the walls and out the socket. They installed a new drain off to the side of my house - which created a medium sized lake between my neighbor's house and mine. I called and asked them to come back, and they installed pipes that drain the water to my front yard... By now I have wet spots coming and going all over my floor - exactly as I had before the drain tiles were installed. Repeated requests to address this are met with additional lessons on fluids. We see one day that we have laundry soap in our yard where the water is being pumped out of the house. A few months later, the sump isnt' working at all. They send a young man who replaces a valve and suggests that we leave the lid off the sump pump so we could rinse it out from time to time BECAUSE IT WAS HALF FILLED WITH ROTTING WATER. The young man made a point of saying that the disgusting material in the sump was not coming through the drain tile - (but gave no explanation whatsoever as to where it might have come from). I still have shallow puddles all over my basement, as if the drain tiles were never installed. The basement smells like sewage. Once the top of the sump is off, we discover every time we empty our kitchen sink, within seconds, the water is dripping into the sump pump. We realize the pipe that empties the kitchen water goes into the floor a few inches from where we had our original wet spot once the drain tiles were installed. When I call them and tell them they have broken a pipe under my floor, they tell me I have an old house and broken pipes happen all the time. The sump pump has inches of rotting nasty fluid in it all the time - and now my house smells like an outhouse all the time. It's now 2 years later, and I had the entire basement floor jackhammered up - and yes, the drain tile installed by Innovative Basement had indeed crushed the kitchen pipe - this was no leak from natural causes. In addition, my contractor points out that the drain tiles they installed were sitting on a cement ledge, which made it impossible for them to soak up any water beneath them. So the only water that ever was pumped out of my basement by these men who ignored me for 2 years and treated me like an irrational complainer, was the water from my kitchen sink- I have now paid an additional $19,000 to have my basement floor repaired. Innovative's estimate to take up the floor and do the same job was $35,000 (remember, I have already paid them $6K). Innovative Basement Systems should lose their license. I have heard from numerous friends who had to have their work redone as well. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE
Description of Work: They installed a drain tile along the inside perimeter of my basement when I began having shallow puddles repeatedly. They showed up a day late and finished what they had said would be a 2 day job in one day because they didn't have a hotel room to stay overnight. They installed a sump pump in addition.

The work is scheduled for the week of 9/03/2013. We were very pleased with Ben's presentation.
Description of Work: After reading the Innovative Basement's literature, we called Ben. After hearing our concerns, he stopped by later the same day. He described a method using anchors to stabilize our basement that was not as invasive to our finished basement as steel I-beams. He was very professional and thoroughly described what his company would be able to do. He also gave advice on radon mitigation.

They were prompt, actually early, but called first to make sure it was ok to arrive early. The repairman was quick and to the point. He cleaned up any mess and left no signs that he had been there other than what was seen on the wall. The repairman was pleasant and very polite. I'd call them again in a heart beat again, and I will be recommending them to everyone. These guys were top notch from the first time the rep came and gave me an estimate in February I believe. They were awesome at working with me on a specific date as well and kept in contact with me not only via email but by phone. Wonderful company to work with. This company knows what customer service is all about!

The Company was actually difficult to find- very few companies or options are out there for this kind of project. The plan was put into place, except that the workers on the ground determined the trenching was not needed, that the design would already direct water to the raised sump pump so the additional drain tile would be unnecessary expense. So they reduced the scope and saved us money. Overall, the work was performed as promised, when promised, the workers were punctual, professional, cleaned up after themselves - we are very satisfied.
Description of Work: We have a lake cottage on a point near water level. Due to high rain and plugged drainage, water level was rising into the crawl space. The Company planned to dig out trenches along the foundation, and insert drain tile for drainage to an elevated sump pump (the existing pump was too low and essentially recirculating lake water). Finally, to seal the walls, the plan was to install a enclosure in the crawl space to prevent moisture from coming back into the crawl space.

I had an estimate done and a contract signed in April to have this work completed. At that time I was assured that all of the above would be done in a day.On June 11th I was called at approx. 11am by one of the people who was going to perform the work. He assured me he would be there by 1pm to start work. So I took the remainder of the day off of work so they could get into the house etc. No one showed up at my house until after 4pm. I received no phone call, no communication about being late etc. Great, I just wasted half a day of vacation. Once there they started work on the egress. Digging a hole etc. I asked how long it would take and he assured me a half day on the 12th was all that was needed. On June 12th I took the morning off. Another half day of vacation. They were working away when they broke a piece on one of their cement saws. They did not have any spare parts on their truck nor did they have any backup methods to complete the work. They called around town and found a part that had to be ordered and would not be in until 11am on the 13th. UGH. In the mean time they worked on my basement wall trenching and repairing. This was the only thing that went well in this process. They said they would finish the basement wall today but need to come back on the 13th to finish the egress. I explained that I could not take any more time off of work. They said at that point they did not need access into the house. On June 13th I came home for lunch around 12. They were almost done with the egress. I went back to work and when I came home after work that day they were gone. No one explained any of the operation of the sump pump or the water detector etc. Then I looked in my basement where the egress was going in and saw huge cracks in all my sheetrock, my baseboard heater was pulled away from the wall, there was uneven cuts in the studs and walls. It looked like garbage.I called Innovative to talk to my salesman and no calls were returned. On the week of June 18th I called again, I was told he was in a training session out of town and if I left a message he would call me back. I called and called for several days with no return calls. On the week of June 25th I got a survey in email asking about the job. I filled it out not very flatteringly, and in the comments section I said "I am begging you to call me and discuss this". Finally I got an email apologizing and asking if he (my salesman) could come and discuss it. We set up a time and he came over to look at it and take pictures. He said he would get back to me ASAP.On July 6th I again had to make contact with them asking for an update. I was told that accounting would cut me a check to repair the damage and I would have it next week.As of July 26th I still did not have a check. Again back to email... This time the salesman said he would cut me a check from his personal account. On July 31st I got the check $100 This was the biggest communications disaster ever. The work done on my basement wall was great (with the exception of the lack of explaining functionality) All I ever wanted was to talk to someone. There is no customer service here.I would never recommend these people nor will I ever use them again

The day we got the quote, the guy was on time, friendly, and able to quote us cost right and recommend options. They guys performing the job, called and were able to come earlier then expected which was great! They showed up and went right to work, answered all my questions without hesitation. Cleaned up after the job, so me basement looked as it did when thew showed up. Amount of time it took is what they estimated for us.
Description of Work: First a quote was done several months in advance, contact information for financing was also provided. Thirty-two feet of water guard installed as well as super sump pump. Then the pipe was run to the outside for us to hook to and get away from the house.

Everyone we worked with at the company was responsive, courteous, and professional, from the person answering the phone making appointments, to the salesman, to the workers. Everyone seemed knowledgeable, and they answered all of our questions. The job was done quickly and neatly. They hung up plastic sheets to keep our stuff clean while they did the messy part (jackhammering the basement floor). The finished work also looks neat and tidy. We haven't put the system to the test yet--not a lot of rain in the winter months--but we have high confidence that our basement will be a much more livable space. The biggest downside to the whole process was how booked up this company is. The lead time for our estimate was several weeks, and the lead time to get the work done was several months. Once they started the job, however, they were finished ahead of schedule. (They had told us that the work would take two or three days. It ended up taking only a day and a half.) Overall, i would recommend this company to others in need of basement waterproofing services.

The installation of the WaterGuard system was completed on Friday, June 10, 2011. The Innovative Basement Systems of Fargo, ND sent out brochures, and a book “Dry Basement Science” so we could familiarize ourselves with the solution to our families water opportunity in the basement on the West side of our home. The representative arrived as schedule to make the measurements and discuss the costs for the project. The representative was not a high pressured salesman. He listened to what we wanted to accomplish, and then said what they could do for us. He stated what additional options that they could offer, but he wasn’t pushy on trying to over sell us thing we didn’t want to commit to for the system we wanted. The three workers were very professional. Laying down drop clothes on the floor and stairways. Sealing adjacent areas off with plastic sheeting from dust from the process of jack hammering the floor. Carefully carrying pieces of concrete floor so as to not strike the walls while taking it out of the house. The masonry worker did a very good job in producing a smooth concrete finish over the floor to seal the WaterGuard System. The clean up was great. First they sweep the area, and finished up washing the floor with water, and squeegeeing. The test came with a heavy rain, and the water flowed to the sump basket, and not out on to the floor. I am very pleased by the professionalism I saw from Innovative Basement Systems, and would recommend their services to others. What and when they said they would do, they did as scheduled. I obtained three bids and Innovative Basement Systems of Fargo, ND was the best priced bid.
