Innovative Basement Authority

We recently enlisted the help of Innovation Basement Authority to help us restore our cracked and heaving basement floor. We were impressed with the professionalism and work ethic exhibited by the entire crew including Joe V, Manah M, Edon M, Denis O, Chad R and Tyler S. It was obvious that these guys took great pride in their work and left a very clean jobsite. We were MOST IMPRESSED and would strongly recommend.

We bought this property last year and this was our first inspection-David Kottke did a great job explaining to us everything we have going on. We inquired about a battery back up on our sump pump and he was able to install it on the spot! Great work!

Great system radon was reduced to trace levels within hours of turning the system on. My only recommendation is to consider the location and potential noise level.. The fan is the equivalent of a dryer vent sound so having it near a location you frequently sit outside can be an issue.. but overall excellent job

Got off to rocky start with city permit problems due to covid 19 complications. Company got it together and completed the job to my complete satisfaction.

David crawled into our crawl spaces, inspected our waterproofing system, did testing and maintenance on all three sump pumps and left us in great shape for spring rains. Exactly as promised and great value.

David K. sold and installed a sump pump/backup pump combo for us all in one day. The sale information given us was fine. Work was done promptly and courteously in prompt manner and with friendly demeanor. Wen wouyld gladly recommend him to a friend or relative.

Nate (salesman) took all of the time required to answer our questions and develop a plan to deal with the high water table issues. The installation crew communicated with us throughout the installation of the interior drainage system and sump pumps and Dave (Service Tech) went above and beyond to finish the triple safe sump system installation and tweak other elements of the initial installation. All worked to leave the basement as clean as this process could allow.

I had them install a dehumidifier in our basement after getting a full estimate for complete waterproofing. The technician was very thorough, explained things very well, and was very helpful. The installation was great. HOWEVER, we sold our house and the new owners needed the dehumidifier serviced. They contacted Innovative Basement, with my contract number and the date it was signed, and were told that we never used them and so therefore they could not service the dehumidifier. VERY disappointing and I will NOT recommend this company based on this treatment. If anything should happen to an install I do not have any faith they would back it up.

We are extremely disappointed in our experience with Innovative Basement Systems. We hired them to replace a support beam in our basement and trusted their explanation of why their costly plan was structurally necessary. After we signed the contract, they changed the original plan to what I am assuming was cheaper for them, but they said it would cost us the same. After installation (early January), we realized that in order to install their beam, they had cut another support beam, causing part of the 1st floor to start breaking away from the rest. It took multiple calls and emails to get a response (over a month later). They said it wasnâ t their fault because they couldnâ t see the beamâ s function when they cut it, so we had to pay for the fix. They didnâ t agree with my perspective that they should have either checked the purpose of the beam first or at least told me, the homeowner, that they were cutting something without knowing its function. They agreed to â compromiseâ and split the cost of the additional repair with us, and we felt stuck since we wouldnâ t be able to get another company out to fix it for cheaper. To fix it, they added an extra support column which is out of line with the rest, which looks terrible and makes the basement less functional. Not only that, but the first person they sent â installedâ it in an incorrect and dangerous way (no bolts to hold it in place, not even perfectly vertical). After multiple additional calls, we got the project manager to come fix the fix problem . After he was done (late February) he said that within a few weeks he would submit the letter necessary to clear/close our permit. Months passed while we periodically left messages with IBS to remind them/try to get an update on this letter. We received no responses, and the lady they always forwarded us to never seemed to be in the office. In the meantime, I had tracked down the inspector to see if we could schedule an inspection ourselves (not our job), but he said the only way was IBSâ letter. In July, IBS finally responded that theyâ d submit it within a week, and theyâ d let us know if there was any delay. Neither of those things happened. After a few more unreturned calls to IBS, I asked the inspector to call IBS himself. Literally within 1-2 days after he called them, he had his letter and the ordeal is now over as of late August, 7 months after the initial installation. We strongly recommend you NOT use Innovative Basement Systems- we could not regret it more.
