In early March of 2011 my husband and I decided to visit several open houses with my parents on a Sunday. The very first house we viewed was in a new development south of 52nd Ave. Julie Dykema with Coldwell was the agent at this house. The instant we started chatting, Julie was personable and very friendly. She gave us her honest opinion on the house we were looking at when we informed her we were first time home buyers, telling us that the cost of the home is likely out of our price range. She gave us great information on the home buying process, what steps my husband and I needed to take and what options we should look into for financing. Julie offered to meet with us once we were done looking at the other houses we had on our list if we were interested in getting more information. We left that house with a good feeling and visited several other open houses that day. None of the other agents gave us the same warm impression that we had with Julie. We decided to meet with her that late afternoon. She sent us home with a very informative packet of brochures and FAQs. We met with her again several days later to let her know we'd like her to send us a list of houses. I had been warned in the past by family members to be cautious of the homes an agent would try to sell, since they can tend to show houses that can be at the top of your price budget or even slightly above. Julie did the exact opposite. She started at the bottom of our price range and moved up when we decided we wanted to see more houses. She drove us to each location and was very friendly and talkative along the way. When we walked through each home we pointed out any pros and cons about the home such as the location, things an inspection would pick up and flag, upkeep concerns, and new updates made by the current or prior homeowners. After three or so weeks we narrowed our choices down and made one final visit with Julie to our top choices. We made the decision to buy a great house in West Fargo along the Sheyenne river. Julie also went with us to meet the home inspector we chose so that she could ask questions for us that we might not think about. It was great to know that she had our best interests in mind and wanted to be sure that we wouldn't end up with a house that has massive issues down the road. At our closing in early May Julie gave us a very nice gift basket and a potted flowering plant for our lawn. Overall we couldn't be happier with the level of service Julie provided for us. I would strongly recommend her for anyone looking to purchase their first home. The process was made so simple and she helped tremendously in easing any stress or concerns we had during the process from start to finish. If anybody else has worked with Julie I would love to know if they have had a similar experience. I hope so!
Description of Work: Note: I entered $0.00 for spending as our agent received her commission through the sellers of the home we purchased. Julie Dykema was our real estate agent for our first time home purchase. Julie helped us with every single step of the process, from the initial information on buying a home to the day we got the keys to our new house. Based on the type of houses we were interested in viewing and our price range she helped us narrow down our choices. She took us through almost 25 walkthroughs of homes throughout the Fargo and West Fargo area. She provided us with multiple opportunities to look over final contenders. Additionally, Julie provided us with great information and multiple options on who to look into for financing our home loan.

I left a voice-mail asking the resident manager, Ashley, to sweep up broken glass blocking my assigned parking space. She or her male partner swept some of it but left much of it there. The next day as she walked by my garage I asked if she could sweep again because there was still a lot of glass. She said, "I already swept YESTERDAY right after you called me!." I said, "maybe you didn't see all of it because it was dark last evening" (there was also water in that area of the parking lot, obscuring the visibility of the glass). She responded, ?I swept during the day, right after you called!? I responded, "Well, there is still glass there, so could you sweep again" (I didn't want to damage my tires). She whirled around and said, "LOOK, WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME!!!". (psycho) I said, "Don't believe me, could you just look and see? Because there is a lot more than one piece of glass left" The next day I called the Property Manager, Julie Poston, and asked if she was in the office. She said really quickly, "WHY?!" I said that last time I called her about the heavy cigarette smoke intruding for 4.5 months through holes around the pipes from the bathroom next door (apparently someone smokes in an enclosed bathroom) she had told me that she didn't know if the couple was moving out at the end of April or May because she was not in the office to check. Now, she scoffed and said, that was private information. I said she had originally told me they were moving out at the end of February, then end of March, then end of April OR May (in other words she had been lying to and misleading me while doing nothing). She said "YOU move out!", and hung up. When I asked the male resident manager, Kyle, (a ?large? individual) what he and Ashley had said to Julie Poston he threatened to assault me and ?evict your a**?. He backed me all the way down the hallway. I filed a police report. Oddly, he also said I was a "pig" for littering just like all the residents here do (I actually never do) and a pig for having "junk" in boxes in my garage (how would he know?). Coldwell Banker Property Management then filed for eviction and falsely claimed they served a 3-day notice (I heard some paper rattling outside my door but when I opened it 5 minutes later there was nothing on the door ? the server claimed he taped it up, so apparently the psycho female resident manager took it down -- illegal). When I moved out Julie Poston tried to block me when I tried to take pics of the apartment to show nothing was damaged, and she physically pushed me (battery/assault). She also told me she didn't appreciate me ?complaining? about the resident manager ? her daughter!! (nepotism) The next week she calls the police to her office to call me on the phone to ask why I have been giving her such a hard time (abuse of police to intimidate a law-abiding citizen).
Description of Work: Property Management -- this company provides property management services at the apartment building where I was renting.
