Ordering the service (online) was very easy and user friendly. The service technician was quick and professional. However, the service itself has continual "delays" where my screen gets hung up or locks up. Connecting when I turn on my PC doesn't always work - I often have to push the button to reset the router. But the WORST complaint I have and the reason I'm canceling my service is because of their billing problems, and subsequent TERRIBLE communication with me as a customer. After losing my credit card and canceling it, I was notified by CableOne that my auto pay was declined. This is where my dissatisfaction began with CableOne. I asked them to just send me a bill and I would pay by mail. They did, and I paid by check. Then I tried to reset my auto pay online, and thought it was set. I received my next bill, marked "do not send a payment, auto-pay is on". Same the next month. Then suddenly I started getting blocked when online with a window that said my account was past due and I needed to make a payment or my internet would be shut off. AND I had late fees added, and would have to pay reactivation fees. This was on a Fri afternoon. I tried logging on to my account to check the status, and it showed amount owed "$0" - however, I could not get in to the auto-pay link to check status there. I used their online "contact us" form, and checked email as my preferred response. I received an auto message from CableOne saying due to confidentiality, they would not provide a reply to me via email, and I had to call. REALLY? I'm logged in to my account on their website and contacting them via their required method, and they can't help me unless I call? After lobbying a few emails back and forth, I have decided I am not interested in staying with CableOne due to their extremely poor customer service methods. I don't want to have to call their number, wait on hold, explain the situation that I already explained in writing, get transferred however many times, and have them try to upsell me if that is also part of their plan to force customers to call when customer service is needed. I'm cancelling my CableOne service as quickly as I can get another service in place.

I had been a customer of CableOne for many years. They then raised their monthly rate on the basic TV cable service by 30%. So I questioned the large rate increase via email and got a standard email response that really didn't tell me anything. Then, unbelievably, a few weeks after the cancellation they called me and tried to sell me their OTHER services (e.g., phone). The sales rep who called me knew I had cancelled my TV service, inquired about the company I switched to and asked about why I cancelled my service. I told him I had included the reason in my email and hung up. Couldn't believe he tried to sell me a service under those circumstances. The time to call me would have been when I made the original complaint to keep me from cancelling in the first place. This is not good customer service.

some of our channels weren't coming in clear, they were skippy and fuzzy. we called the local office and they kept saying it was a bad box or it can't be plugged into a surge protector etc and we need to bring the box in for a new one or have a service person come out. they close before we are off work and we cant take a day off to wait for service so we asked if they could just try to reset it online. they said no, it must be a bad box. so we waited until a saturday and called the 800 number and explained what was wrong with our cable and they reset it online no problem.

The irrigation people were installing some lines and one of their guys nicked the cable. Apparently it was not buried deep enough by the cable company. When we came home we had no phone, no TV, and no internet. Our landscaper from Oasis Plantscapes, who hired the irrigation people, was useless and basically I was the one who had to resolve it even though I had nothing to do with the damage. We use the internet for remote access to our work computer, so this was kind of a big deal. The irrigation people (NTM) were in the process of black taping the cable when I came home from lunch. I had my doubts that would work. There was a CableOne truck down the street. I suggested NTM talk to them about it and I believe they did. Anyway, when we came home from work the cable had been repaired, buried and seems to work okay for now. We were totally without service for 2 nights. We'll see how long the repair lasts. Just as an aside: We have had this service for about 9 months and it has been fine so far. The biggest complaint is the limitation of available TV channels. Most of the premium movie stations play the same ones over and over. We were used to Comcast Xfinity in California where they had on-demand selections, with tons of movies, and a greater amount of PPV as well. The internet speed is not quite as fast here either, although it is acceptable.

I missed one payment due to a mix-up with an electronic payment via my bank account and CableONE cut off my services. When I tried to pay again a couple of weeks later, CableONE demanded additional money for a "reconnection fee". I wouldn't pay it, so they put an adverse notice on my credit report. Now, for the last 12 months, I've been sending my money to a satellite TV provider instead.

We started using them in 2007. Their prices up in 2010 and they coersed me to stay with them and I did with free stuff. I took that stuff back. They want you to bundle things in and then they higher their prices on you. I will use them until somethings better comes along.

In June 2008, my new apartment landlord gave me a flier/coupon for Cable One: first month free! I called the number on the flier and talked to Jason about installation and the discount advertised on the flier. He explained that the first month would be free, with a monthly bill of about $75 after the free month. He offered installation times that didn't quite fit into my schedule, so I said I'd have to schedule later when I was less busy. The next week, I had more time for an installation person to come over, so I went to Cable One's website to see if there were any convenient installation times. I signed up for one, and a technician arrived in the time range I selected. I was surprised afterward when he gave me a bill that included the charge for the first month (which I thought was free). I showed him the coupon/flier from my landlord, but the technician told me that since I scheduled online rather than calling the phone number listed on the flier, he couldn't give me the discount. I wrote a check for the whole amount and assumed that the customer service people would fix it later. I expected the Cable One company to honor discounts from its own advertisements! When I called the customer service phone number, they told me that they wouldn't honor the discount because of my scheduling online. They stated that the Cable One flier was not a company advertisement and that only Jason, the Cable One technician, could have given me that discount. I was mad enough to cancel my service, but I had committed to 6 months of service and I didn't want the hassle of dealing with stopping the 6 month contract. My apartment is in West Fargo, ND, and there were very limited choices for internet and cable services. Plus, the installation was done and settled. I didn't want to be without service and wait at home for another installation from another provider. So I decided to keep the service for the 9 months I planned to live in my apartment (until my wedding and moving into my future husband's house). I signed up to pay my bills by electronic funds transfer from my checking account. This month (December 2008) I saw that my checking account transfer to Cable One shot up from $75 to $101.69. I called the customer service number about this and I was told that the price had gone up because my 6 month "deal" was over. They told me that my initial service agreement allowed for price increases after 6 months, but if I renewed my contract for another 1-2 years, I could get a lower price! I didn't think this was a very generous offer, especially because I only signed up for the original service because of the fake discount (the coupon that wasn't honored). My decision is to terminate service. I feel like I have been ripped off twice by Cable One, first when my Cable One discount flier was not honored, and now when they suddenly started charging over $100 for "bare bones" basic cable and internet service.
