Everything went extremely smoothly. The movers showed on Monday when they said they would to load the truck. The company sent four people to load, so the loading only took a little over an hour. The next morning, they drove down to the twin cities and arrived right at the time they had given us. Unloading took a little over two hours for the two movers. Everything arrived safely with no damage.
Description of Work: We moved from a thre bedroom apartment in Fargo into a two bedroom apartment in the Minneapolis area. We decided to use the fixed quote price option rather than hourly in case any unforeseen events (like traffic came up). We boxed up everything ahead of time and took apart our two beds and large items.

From my son, who actually experienced the move. I was told that I would get two movers and two packers, a total of four people. When they showed up there were only two people and I was told they were doing the moving and the packing. When they were ready to leave I noticed they left a couple of things so I told them and they packed those. Later I realized that it wasn?t just a couple of things. Multiple drawers in the kitchen were left full. A shelf in the laundry room had items remaining on it, and there was a shelf in the bedroom closet that had items remaining on it. When it was time to leave I headed up to a storage unit (that was reserved specifically for the purpose of storing moved items) and was told ?we?ll be right behind you?. After I arrived at the storage unit I waited a good hour before they showed up (I was being charged an hourly rate). I gave the movers specific instructions to place the furniture in the back of the storage unit and to put the boxes in front. That way when I had to move I could get the boxes if need be, and also so if there were more items to put in storage I could. The instructions were not followed, and the unit is now inaccessible. I tried multiple times to resolve the issue with the company - offered for them to pack and move the rest of the items to storage, and they said no. Suggested taking money off of the bill, and they said no. Their only suggestion was that they pack boxes and load up the car and then for me to move the boxes to storage. This was an unacceptable option because that is what I was paying them to do. When the storage unit was brought to their attention, I was told that their employees told them that there was no room and they had to pack it the way it is described above. This is obviously untrue as I reserved this unit specifically for this purpose and it was completely empty. The owner of the storage units can verify this. I tried multiple times to resolve the issue. I sent in pictures of the unmoved items, at their request, and the only option they gave me was to move the items myself. After a couple of days of going back and forth they didn?t return calls, or respond to messages, left multiple times.

[Removed Member Name] hired us to perform packing services and moving services. For [Removed Member Name] s job, the same two people did the packing and the moving. He was never told that we would send 4 people to do the job. The hourly rate that we quote is for a two person crew. [Removed Member Name] was present during the entire time that the workers were at his apartment. He gave the workers instructions as to what he wanted them to pack and move because not everything was to be moved by 5 Star Moving. The moves packed his boxes and loaded his items into the truck. The workers then asked [Removed Member Name] if they had everything that he wanted them to take. [Removed Member Name] walked through the apartment and did point out a few more things that he wanted them to take in addition to a closet that still needed to be packed. The movers then proceeded to pack up the closet that was pointed out and loaded the additional items. They again asked [Removed Member Name] if they had everything that he wanted them to take. He said yes and so the moves left Fargo, ND and drove to Fergus Falls, MN to deliver the items. The next day, 11/21/15, [Removed Member Name] called and said that we forgot to take some items. We asked him why he didn't tell the movers to take the items left behind when they asked him if they had everything. He said "I thought they had everything". [Removed Member Name] s wife also called on the same day and spoke about items that were left behind. I think there was some miscommunication between [Removed Member Name] and his wife as far as what was supposed to be left behind and what was supposed to be moved by 5 Star Moving. We asked [Removed Member Name] to send photos of what was left. He sent photos of a couple of boxes and a few miscellaneous items. Even though the movers asked him if they had everything and he said yes, we offered to have the movers go back out to his place in Fargo, ND and load those boxes into his vehicle but he refused. In regards to stacking the items into the storage unit, boxes are 100% of the time the first items loaded on the truck, so that means they would have been the last thing to get unloaded, which would have put them at the entrance of the storage unit as [Removed Member Name] had asked.

Description of Work: They were so fast and did such a nice job! We even called them afterward to comment on how pleased we were. They arrived ten minutes early, were extremely careful with our belongings, and worked at top speed. They were excellent.
