We purchased carpet from our local Lowe's store and their installers did an absolutely HORRENDOUS job on the installation of the flooring in our newly finished basement. The first clowns who showed up were completely crude, using foul language in front of my wife and two young girls. They also left beverage containers all over a brand-new custom fireplace mantel and carpet knife blades in the basement and garage where they were cutting carpet off the roll. For reasons that are too complex to explain in this review, a second installer came to finish our carpet installation approximately 10 days after the work first started. This installer brought his 13 yr old son to "hang out" while he worked on the carpet installation. He wasn't able to finish the installation in one day, so he said he'd be back right away the next morning. After we waited around, he finally showed up after 10 am because he "locked his keys in his truck". RIGHT! He "finished" the job in a few hours but couldn't vacuum up the mess because the belt was broken on his vacuum cleaner. He KNEW the belt was broken on his first day there because we had seen the broken belt laying on the floor the previous evening. It was only after my wife and oldest son spent HOURS vacuuming up the mess that we discovered the real problems. The installation quality was terrible. There are visible seams EVERYWHERE and extensive damage to freshly painted baseboards, walls, and custom woodwork that took many hours to correct. My wife and I have had numerous conversations with the installation manager at our local Lowe’s to get this issue resolved either by fixing the visible seams or by providing a refund. They keep saying they want to “make it right”, but after getting jerked around for almost two months, I’ve had enough. It’s obvious that if anything goes wrong, they clearly WILL NOT “make it right”. Don’t buy your flooring at Lowe’s! STAY AWAY‼

Description of Work: We purchased and paid for laminate flooring-delivery and installation. This was Oct. 10th and now its Feb. 4th-my floor is still primed plywood which we did, boxes of flooring piled up in corner and no contact from Lowes-They previously Promised to come in and get it done but have not called nor sent anyone over to complete job that was paid for in Advance with signed contract. We are getting Lawyer to file suit against them.

I purchased carpet in Oct. from Lowes. They did not get around installing it until December, after I filed a formal complaint with corporate. This means that I did not have functional bedrooms in my house for approximately three months. The day of the install, they called to inform me that the carpet had a flaw. I told them I had company coming for Christmas and needed carpet. We came to an agreement that the carpet would be installed temporarily and we would revisit our options after the holidays. I visited with Lowes this week and they had little recollection of this issue. They offered me a 50% discount on the room with the flawed carpet and stated I would be required to void the warranty--leaving me with carpet that has no value. The other option would be for them to come and inspect the carpet, move all the furniture, remeasure the room, reorder the carpet, and reinstall it--a significant amount of my time and energy, time I can't take away form work. Given Lowes' track record, I'm also concerned that this process could take a significant months to complete, leaving my home in a mess in the meantime. I'm still working with the store to try to remedy this, but I would strongly advise choosing a different option if you are considering new flooring. The process has been nothing but frustrating and time consuming!

My husband and I bought a snow blower that was put together at the store. On second use, BOTH handles broke. The screws completely broke in half. I called Lowes and they told me I had to take it to their servicer that was 2 MONTHS out on repairs. Winter would almost be over by then! We don't have a truck and Lowes would not bring us a new one and take the old one back with them. Long story short, we found a friend with a truck to help take it back, got our money back, and went elsewhere.

They were awful. They use a subcontractor out of Colorado and the communication between Lowe's and their sub was almost nonexistent. They brought the wrong amounts of each type so I had extra seams and no extra left of one of the styles. One of the installers was a huge gorilla who was cussing most of the time he was there. It was a cement floor which was obvious when they came to take measurements but brought no glue, just cement tacks. When they started fracturing the cement with their hammers they still wouldn't go out and get glue. They also smashed the heck out of my recently restored baseboard. I would expect some nicking here and there but they really trashed them and I had to go all the way back through and repaint them. I spent tens of thousands of dollars at Lowe's over the course of remodeling my duplex and had used them for cabinets on a prior remodel. But I will never do a major purchase with them again.

Measuring was done incorrectly doors had to be returned to store and new ones brought in one storm door was measured wrong and never replaced It is now Jan. 2011 and we are still having problems with air leaks around the doors and frame work
