Mr Rogers demanded to be paid up front for the job,. We had used him before and while we werent real keen on doing this, we went ahead and did it anyway. He came by, picked up the check for $2500 and proceeded to start stalling us with various flimsy excuses. When he finally did show up, 10 days after he said he was going to, him and his crew worked about 4 hours and left. During this 4 hours, he found additional "damage" that needed to be repaired. He stressed it wasnt "just nailing some wood down" and wanted $700 to repair 3 spots. He ended up just nailing the wood back down for $700 and he didnt even do all the spots he charged us to do. When I confronted him about this, he told me that since my fiance already authorized it, there was nothing I could do about it but pay it and if we didnt, he would walk off the job. The next day his crew returned without him and worked for another 4 hours and left. He came by the next day demanding $700 for the "repairs" he did and against our better judgement, we paid him because our roof was already torn up and we didnt want to be left holding the bag. Well, we were left holding the bag anyway. He took the check for $700, went to the bank and cashed it and told my fiance the roof wasnt getting finished. At least he was truthful about one thing. We took him to small claims court and he didnt even bother to show up. The judge ruled in our favor but we have not seen a dime from Danny and I dont expect we ever will. Update Added 10/15/2012 - Approx 1 year ago, we went back to court against Mr Rogers as he appealed for not showing up the first time. The mediator listened to both sides of the case and awarded us a judgement (again) on the spot. Mr Rogers did not appeal this verdict again. Approx. 1 year later we have not seen a dime from him and still dont expect to. Updated 4/15/2015 - Danny is now doing business in Willow Springs, NC.
