Wow! What a great job! Three other companies said they were unable to even out our driveway where tree roots had caused several tripping hazards, but Roger at Concrete Raising apparently can perform miracles. The final product was a driveway that is no longer dangerous and looks great. He and his assistant were prompt and neat, leaving our property tidied up when they left at the end of the day since the job had to be performed over two days. I would highly recommend Concrete Raising of NC.

Roger Judd is a very nice guy and very accommodating. His crew did an excellent job in "mud" jacking the sunken concrete pad at our front door... it was badly tilted. It looks almost as good as new. And the price they quoted was definitely the cheapest.

The head of the company who gave us the estimate seemed knowledgeable compared to other quotes we had, and the price was right. They were easy to work with, the boss and his worker were very friendly on the day of the job- explaining things, chatting, interacting with my children. Overall I think they did a very good job but won't really know how things turned out until years from now.

The work was very professionally done with the porch floor now back to the original level. This work was done by drilling holes through the brick floor and slab and pumping in material to raise the slab. To complete the job, the holes were filled with mortar which was shaped and dyed to match the brick. My compliments to Roger and Stephen for the promptness and the quality of the work. I highly recommend their service

Mr. Judd was very cordial, professional, punctual and honest. He gave me possible solutions for my floor, however, he suggested in the end not to do anything in my particular situation which i very much appreciate.. What i like is that he didn't push me into a corner to get the business. He gave me some good tips that will help in my particular situation. I would very much recommend Mr. Judd's service.

He saved me probably about $2,000.00 because instead of getting the concrete replaced, he just raised it because the front porch is sinking. They put rocks underneath it and lift the concrete up instead of having to pour new concrete and tear it up. I'd give him all A's.

Had contract on 4-year-old house October 2013. Concrete driveway had sunk about 4 inches below slab of 2-car garage. Roger spent an hour or so looking at the problem and explaining what they could and could not do. Also looked at my other concrete (12' concrete walls in basement, very tall exterior concrete retaining walls, front porch, etc) and told me what condition they were in, how they were built, etc. Went into great detail. Turns out he was in concrete paving/pouring business for many years before starting the concrete raising company and is very knowledgeable about all things concrete. We both decided my particular driveway was not a good candidate for raising (might cause problems with adjoining concrete, etc), but I bought the house. Here I am a year later, finally getting ready to have my whole driveway and sidewalk ripped out and replaced with new concrete. Called Roger twice in last 2 days to ask questions and get advice on what I should do to fix my specific problem/s. Roger spent considerable time with me both times, gave me a ton of totally unbiased great info and advice. I'm much more confident about hiring concrete contractor now. It's obvious Roger has long experience working with concrete and has a lot of knowledge. I would not hesitate to use him or his company for any concrete job.

The work went extremely well. They begin by drilling holes into the concrete. Then, the mud mixture is gradually pumped into each of the holes. Once all of the "voids" are filled, then the concrete raises. The area is then thoroughly cleaned and the holes are capped with concrete. The whole job only took a few hours. I would definitely use these guys again, and I strongly recommend their service. For those investigating getting this done.. The mud mixture that this company uses is preferable to expanding foam that competitors use for a number of reasons. The mud does a much better job of filling the voids. Polyurethane creates little peers instead of a completely filling the space beneath the concrete. Also, since mud is less expensive, the cost of the repair will less too!

We couldn't be happier with their promptness and professionalism.
Description of Work: My house is 25 years old. Our front walkway to the brick steps sunk to dangerous level making the first step extremely high. The young men who came out raised the walkway to code and left my home with no damage to the surrounding landscape. They worked cleanly and meticulously. This repair saved us thousands from having to either replace the concrete with pavers or pour new concrete. I would recommend this option and this company to anyone facing this issue.

It took about one half of a day to complete. They were punctual, professional and quite courteous throughout the entire process. If I had remained in Raleigh, I would have used them again no questions asked.
Description of Work: They leveled three (3) locations of the driveway which is original dating back to 1978. Driveway had either settled (by garage door) or had raised up in several locations due to tree roots from large sourthern pine trees.

They were very responsive and professional, and they were able to fit me in an empty slot that came available the same week I asked to schedule the work so that I didn't have to wait until the driveway got worse with the winter weather. They showed up on time and had the work done in an amazingly short period (less than 2 hours). The concrete is not perfectly level, but I don't think that would have been possible with the extent of the shifting and cracking that was there before I got around to calling them. I can't say it it was exactly a cheap fix, but it was a far cheaper and much, much less intrusive solution than having to tear out the driveway and replace it. I was able to use my driveway the same day! Both Roger and Jack were very professional and open to answering all my questions, and I have no hesitations in recommending them

Jake came and did the estimate when he said he would do so! I'd told him about our concerns with the irrigation and outdoor wiring near the steps. He investigated (dug a small hole and moved pine straw around) and said they would be careful and not damage anything with either of those systems. Plus, he filled the small hole and put the pine straw back. The estimate was less than 1/2 of the estimate I'd received from two other competitors and the work was performed on a mutually agreed upon date. The other contractors told me that since it was a small job they would do it when they got around to it within a 3 month window based on what worked best for them. Once we scheduled the work the contractor team arrived on time, as promised! Although I'd told Jake, when he did the estimate, about our concerns with the irrigation and outdoor wiring I thought perhaps the work team had not been told. Jake had told them, but they also dug a small hole and moved pine straw to check the location of the wiring and irrigation lines. They assured us that they would be careful and no damage would occur for either of those systems. Then they drilled a hole in the sidewalk in front of the steps, I had not expected that (guess I didn't ask enough questions of Jake during the estimate). When I asked about the hole they told me that it was necessary and that they would repair it as part of the job and it would look good. I left for the office. When I returned in the evening the steps were level and back in place as close tot he porch as they could possibly be, the hole in the sidewalk was patched and looked good (it is very hard to patch concrete and not be able to see any sign of the work, but it was professionally done and very acceptable), neither my irrigation nor lighting systems were damaged. Other than having level steps (back where they belonged for the first time in years) there was no sign of work having been performed. It was truly a professional and very nicely done job. Needless to say, I am thrilled with the results, the quality of the work, attention to my concerns, and the level of customer service.
Description of Work: We had a set of 3 brick steps that were built separately from the front sidewalk and the porch. The steps had settled about 1.5" on one end and an ugly gap/crack between the steps and the porch had appeared. We needed the steps brought back to level so that they were not "tilted" and fit back up against the brick porch for a better cosmetic appearance. Due to some extensive irrigation system and low-voltage outdoor lighting work we'd recently had done we were concerned that leveling the steps might impact either of those systems since the wiring and irrigation systems were very close to the edge of the steps.

We had a hard time finding a contractor who would do a small job like this as a speciality. We found this company at a home show and immediately requested an estimate. Since this was a small job (only 3 steps about 5' wide), they like to combine several in the same area and work them the same day, and they give a great cash discount if you're flexible about when they come. Waiting a few weeks was no big deal to us as we've tolerated this condition for 30+ years and had no pending event requiring immediate attention. Jake Abhau performed the work well, although it did take a couple of followup trips to finish all the details, due partly to weather (cold, rain) and other work. Jake raised the steps and concrete sidewalk as expected and filled in the gap between the steps/porch and between the sidewalk sections so it's all good now. We're very pleased and happy to have safer steps. There was a little material spilled on the steps but I believe I can get that off with a wire bristle brush.
Description of Work: Brick steps leading up to the front entrance porch were raised about 4-5 inches to restore them to the original height. The steps and concrete sidewalk section on which they sat had settled since original construction in 1965.
