I was very pleased with the service and quality of install. I have been a customer of Comfort Master for the servicing of my old HVAC system (Comfort Club Member) but when the time came to replace my old unit I had them come out and give me an estimate. Greg (sales consultant) was great and I never felt pressured or like I was getting a sales pitch. He explained my options thoroughly and was very patient with me. The installers were courteous, professional, and polite. I work from home and it was a 2-day install but I felt completely comfortable with them being under and inside my house. Mostly I didn't even know they were there. They were neat and efficient. I will definitely recommend them to friends/family!!!

Everyone that we met and talked with from Comfort Master was professional and thorough. Their estimate was comparable to others that we received. Installation was on schedule. Installers were prompt, efficient, and cleaned up all debris. There was a small problem after the installers left. We called the main office and someone came within hours to fix the problem. The salesman that originally gave us the estimate has returned since the installation to survey our satisfaction and we have received written inquires from the owners asking for our comments. Our home is now cool and we are HAPPY!

Stephen the technician showed up, introduced himself, and checked out all of my units and immediately found the broken capacitor. He then explained the pricing, and after we agreed on what needed to be done he fixed the unit, cleaned up, and brought me my bill. He answered other questions I had about future work on my H&A system.
Description of Work: I called three other companies, and no one could make it out today. But Comfort Master H&A sent their technician Stephen Alfonse out within a few hours. This was a great relief because the upstairs A/C was completely out. He fixed it, cleaned up, and was very professional---even wore booties in my house so he wouldn't track in dirt. I will definitely use Comfort Master again! So grateful for the prompt and careful service!

Greg gave me an estimate about three weeks prior to the job start. He was very professional and explained the options and pricing of three different systems. I selected Comfort Master because of the choices they gave me, Greg's ability to determine how to best repair my system and their pricing. ( I had three competitive bids). The day of the job the workman, Ismael and Jordan arrived on time and worked throughout the day to complete the job in one day. They were both nicely dressed and presented their cards when they arrived. They finished the job around 8 pm. I was impressed with their dedication to getting it done in one day, their cleanliness and professionalism. There were other workman in the house and Ismael and Jordan just worked around them without a problem. They called me when they finished the installation,as they said they would.
Description of Work: Comfort Masters replaced my HVAC system. The system replaced was 27 years old. To replace the system a complete new coolant line needed to be run through the attic and down the side of the house. This line was placed in a different location than the previous line.. To lay the pad for the compressor required hand digging roots from a tree which had grown over the previous coolant lines and had tilted the previous paid.

Over the past several weeks the comfort master team has replaced two HVAC systems in both my residence and my rental property. Their technicians and sales staff were knowlegable, courteous, and willing to work with their client to make sure I was completely satisfied. The installations easily passed NC state inspections. I've had annual service contracts with them for over 10 years. For anyone contemplating this type of repair, I would unequivocally endorse the folks at Comfort Master.

I asked for bids from seven companies--and went with the high bid. Comfort Master was a huge standout when it came to professionalism and on-time performance. It was obvious from the first contact that they were a professional organization and they proved it. They know their business, care for their customers and seem to have the highest of integrity. From the salesman to the installers, it was a pleasure doing business with them. The 2-man installation crew arrived early and worked very hard in less than desirable conditions to complete a 2-day job in only one day. The job was complete, the area totally cleaned and the system working before they left--although they were on-site for at least 12 hours. We can't say enough good things about entire crew from Comfort Masters. Yes, their price was a bit high, but I would rather pay slightly more for high-quality, on-time work than to save a few dollars and get a second-rate job. Thanks, again, to Comfort Master for a job well done.

The Comfort Master repair technician diagnosed the upstairs AC unit as "Bad Motor" costing between $500 and $700 to repair. The recommendation was to replace the unit which was priced. The replacement unit was priced for a 1.5 ton unit and we currently have a 2 ton unit. The email below was sent to the Sales Person (and subsequently the owner Fay Brown). I sent a picture of our current system showing it was a 2-Ton. The owner of the company responded to my email below and said the error in the unit size was due to the sales person not having notes in front of him during our conversation. Unfortunately for them, I had an email from the sales person where he identified in writing that our unit was a 1.5 ton when it is a 2 ton. I forwarded that back to the owner who chose to not repond back to me. Comfort Master would not return the fee charged to me. Thankfully, I got another opinion before spending the $5300.00 quoted on a system that would have been sized smaller than my current unit. Email sent 6/8/11 Mike, I?ve had the opportunity to get some additional information since you and I met and below is what I have found out. 1) The problem with our upstairs unit was a motor?in fact a fan motor. The stated estimate by Jeff at the time of service was that the ?motor? was ?between $500 and $700?. The written diagnosis stated the repair would be > $550. to get the system running. Based on what I?ve been told that price is unreasonable given the cost of the fan motor part. 2) This is supposition on my part but it might follow to think that if the repair were ?high enough? on an old unit, then the argument for a new unit becomes more credible so pumping up the repair costs would push the decision towards a new unit. So I think the repair cost for a fan motor replacement that you quoted was beyond what you would normally charge in an effort to push us towards unit replacement. 3) New System ? You stated below that a single stage 2 ton compressor would be ?very oversized? and that my current system is a 1.5 ton system (see below). Please see the attached photo for the model # system information for our current system. Our current is a Carrier System model is 38CKCO24. I believe our current system is a 2-Ton and not a 1.5 Ton. How did the error occur and more importantly you were trying to sell us a system with lesser capabitilities than our current system! As you may know by now, I stopped payment on the check I gave you. I am extremely disappointed in the ?bait and switch? type activity of your company. Our current system has now been repaired with a new fan motor and is cooling normally. What we paid for the entire repair was WELL below what your service tech quoted as just the fan cost. We thought you gave us fair service last year which is why we made the return call to your company but the kind of activity above is at a minimum unethical. Given the fact that we felt it necessary to get a 2nd opinion and pay a 2nd diagnosis fee and have the repair completed at a MUCH lower cost, we are requesting the return of the diagnosis fee paid to your company. Had it been a fair representation of the problem and associatd cost, we could have decided whether to install a new system or complete the repair. Additionally to have you identify our current unit incorrectly is troublesome at best. Please respond to this email by either you or your manager stating your position within 7 days from today 6/8/11. A no response is not acceptable and will likely result in a complaint of a different manner. I will be happy to go over any of the above especially if you disagree. While I dislike having to write these types of emails, your company?s behaviour is not tolerable.
Description of Work: Diagnose upstairs AC unit failure and propose repair solutions. Without a 2nd opinion, the replacement cost was quoted at +/- $5300.00.

I appreciate the client’s concerns. Our priority is to always be upfront about our services and pricing. We take great care in diagnosing system problems and using a fixed flat rate pricing book for a service repairs. Our customers can see the book and know that they have a standard price for their repair. The above customer may have not been present for the initial diagnosis because her husband signed the service ticket and not have seen our flat rate pricing book. We do recommend considering system replacement when there is a more significant repair and the system is older and the parts warranty is expired because there may be another problem not yet presented that could keep adding to future repairs on the system. We offer the client a choice. When we do a replacement estimate, we ALWAYS do a load calculation which includes measuring the area of the home that a new system will condition, addressing insulation, windows, etc. Then we propose a system replacement based upon the load calculation, NOT based upon what the client currently has installed. We are required to have this load calculation in our file for 5 years after system installation. We also have a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee and this is provided to our clients when a system is installed by Comfort Master. We take great pride in our customer service and 99% of our customers say they would refer us! This is according to a Trane Customer Satisfaction survey we participate in with 111 of our clients responding out of 328 submitted. Taking care of our customers remains our PRIORITY!

I had used them in 2006 for my first floor HVAC replacement and was very satisfied. I needed the 2nd floor unit replaced this time and it required them to work in my finished 3rd floor and attic. They were very clean, they covered all my carpeting with their own red carpet. No marks or signs of dirt with all the old equipment they hauled away or from the new equipment that had to go up to the 3rd floor. They sealed all my ductwork (at the registers throughout the entire house) and I never found any dirt or smudge marks. I bought the top of the line unit the salesman had (to qualify for the Fed Tax Credit and local rebates). Great job guys keep up the great work!
