I paid Charles $5,000.00 deposit to begin my custom cabinets within 6 weeks. He never came and after 8 months refused to give my deposit back. He is a fraud. It has almost been a year now and he will not answer our calls.

I put down a $1200 deposit. I had to call him a month later. Two months later never heard back from him. I called him to cancel my services. Ever since then, he doesn't answer the phone and has not returned my deposit.

The original doors (April 1995) were a and quot;foiland quot; covered MDF product; after about 5 years the and quot;foiland quot; started separating from the MDF. The original provider (Kitchen and Bath Decisions) were aware of this defect and told me when I returned to Greenville for retirement they would give me a and quot;good dealand quot; on new doors. Their and quot;good dealand quot; was nearly $3000. I looked for other providers. I had one estimate of $1450 and then Mr. White's estimate of $1091. I decided on Mr. White not only because he was the and quot;low bidderand quot; but also because he offered a superior door compared to the other two providers. Mr. White's doors were actually built by him out of poplar; he used MDF only for the raised panels. The other two providers offered painted MDF doors. Mr. White took time to educate me on MDF and the many varieties/qualities available. I even asked him why his price was so low compared to others. He told me he gets a really good deal on the materials from a place in Raleigh. I paid him half up front so that he could get the materials and the other half upon completion. He had the doors ready when he said they would be ready. Installation was very quick; we used my old hardware. I couldn't be more pleased. He even took the old doors away; I didn't have to bother about trying to dispose of them myself. I am extremely pleased with the job he did and would recommend Charles White Woodworking not only for refacing of cabinets but for any other carpentry work (check out his website).
