They quoted 13 angle iron support braces. They would attach angle iron to the floor and to the floor joists above. They proposed a french drain leading to my existing sump pump which they quoted at $2500. Then for $1000 they would paint the inside of the basement wall with water resisting water proofing paint. So there were 3 quotes all together. They were very professional and I will do business with them if or when I decide to have the work done.
Description of Work: I got an estimate for reinforcing the basement wall which was cracked, leaning and leaking.

Response from Willard's Waterproofing
We would just like to respond to your review, although we only gave you a estimate and did not do any work for you, we just wanted you to know that we try to give our customers the best possible price that we can on any job that we do. We stand behind our work and have now for 32yrs. with a lifetime of the structure of the home. Some companies consider a lifetime 20yrs. but our guarantee is for the lifetime of the home itself. All of my work crew has been with us for many years including family members, and I just recently had one to retire with 28yrs. of service to our company. I do pay them well for the hard work that they do which sometimes makes me a little higher than my competitors when this is factored into the estimate, but I know that our experience will give you a perfect job and you will be another satisfied customer with our work. Thank you for allowing us to come out to your home for a estimate and being honest in your response. This helps us to better serve our customers in the future. Sincerely, Deborah & Larry Willard Willard Waterproofing

I do recommend removing all furniture/belongings from where the team is working (or covering with blankets), as there was concrete dust everywhere. Can not be prevented...
Description of Work: We needed a pump installed in our basement due to water seeping in around our foundation during heavy rains. The team was professional and finished the job in three days. I would use this company again and recommend them.

Very good experience. Willard's provided an estimate and detailed explanation at the outset of the project. They ran into some complications during the work that required another day and a half of work, but they honorewd the original estimate. Work was done cleanly and properly, and they did a pretty good job of cleaning up after themselves. Would certainly use this provider again and was pleased with the interaction.

Our call to Willard was precipitated by discovering about 4and quot; of standing water in our crawl space in early January 2011. Yuck. Before Willard came, we rented a pump from Home Depot to drain off the standing water. They installed the french drain, sump pump, outside catch basins, and foundation vents in January 2012. They said it would take 60-90 days for the dirt to dry out, and then they would return to put down plastic over the entire crawl space dirt. When Willare installed the outside catch basins (covered by a small grate), they did not contour the ground around it, so the drains didn't work that well. After we contoured the ground, the little drains worked great. We had to call them several times to come back and install the plastic on the ground of thee crawl space. They didn't come back until 6 months later. Our crawl space is literally and quot;crawland quot; space. In a couple of places you can perhaps crouch, and in others, you have to slither like a snake on your belly. So, it's a tight space. Willard refused to remove the dirt that was unearthed during installation of the french drain/sump pump, saying they would smooth it out after everything dried out. That means that what was once a tight space is now very cramped. We have to get in the crawl space to access the HVAC to change the filter, and ocassionally a plumber/electrician needs access. So, we are not thrilled by the fact that what little space we had to manoeuver is even smaller now. The french drain/sump pump system is working well, so we're pleased about that. Overall, a mixed experience.
Description of Work: Willard Waterproofing installed a interior french drain around all 4 walls of our crawlspace. They also installed a sump pump and tied the drain of the pump into a city stormwater drain that is in our back yard near the house. They also noticed two places near the house where water stood during a hard rain, so they also installed two small catch basins and routed the drain into the same city stormwater drain. They sprayed for mold/mildew in the crawlspace. They also installed automatic open/shut foundation vents. After the ground under the house had dried out, they returned and installed plastic over the dirt.

Response from Willard's Waterproofing
In response to the comments that were made we would like to say that this was a extremely wet crawlspace when we started the job on Jan.24.2012 and now it is a nice dry space. We had scheduled this job for 2 days but because of 6 to 8 inches of water pouring into our french drain trench while we were trying to work it took us a extra day. Our crew worked very hard on this job in mud and rain. This crawlspace was average in height to most crawlspaces that we do but was not average in the amount of water coming in. We were sure that this house was built on top of springs and all the neighborhood water drained towards this house. As to the small drains outside we did the best we could at grading the dirt when we installed them due to all the mud outside. As to getting back to put the vapor berrier down a normal crawlspace takes 30 to 90 days to dry out, this was not a normal crawlspace and you want it to be nice and dry when you do install the plastic or it will take longer to dry out if you put down the plastic to soon. I did explain this to the customer along with the fact that I would work on getting someone there to do it , we were extremely busy at that time due to lots of rain. On his 2nd call to remind me, I told him that I had not forgotten about him and I was able to send 3 men over 2 days later. It is not on our contract to take dirt out but we do try to smooth out the dirt as best as we can. I was told by my crew that the customer was fine with the work and had only asked that they check a cable line that he thought was pulled tight underneath the crawlspace, which they did. We were never contacted about any problems with the job. No one ever commented to us about the small drains needing to be graded around them or we would have sent someone back to do that. We do know that the job was done right and they have a lifetime warranty with the french drain. We are sorry to hear that they were not 100% happy. If they would have called and spoken to Mr. Willard then we would have addressed any issues. After 30 yrs. in business this is a first for us.

Josh from Williard's Waterproofing came to our home and assessed the leak we had in our basement. He was very professional and courteous. He told my husband and me what we could do to do the repairs ourselves. I was so very impressed with Josh and the business he represents that even though no work was performed I felt I needed to post a review. If we do need work in the future, Willard's Waterproofing will be the first place we contact.

I thought the quote was very good considering the amount of work involved in the system. They were very professional and did really good work, cleaning up everything when they were done. We were happy with them and would recommend them to anyone needing this type of work done.
Description of Work: We had Willard's Waterproofing put in an interior french drain system in our walk out basement. They dug a trench the entire front wall of the basement and turned on corner 3 feet. They also put in a sump pit with a pump for removing any water that accumulates. We had to have the area prepared before they came which you could do yourself or get a contractor for that part.

I followed his advise and did the repairs myself. We've had several hard rains since I made the repairs he suggested and there have been no more leaks. It's good to find honest companies that are interested in doing what is right.
Description of Work: I called Williards for an estimate on a water leak in my basement. He advised me on what "I" could do to repair the problem myself and not be charged a large repair bill. He didn't charge for the estimate or the advice.

The experience was excellent, we'll updated this after the first big rain to ensure that it worked. Their lifetime transferable guarantee provides us with the security that if anything doesn't work they will come back and fix and that same security can be passed on to the next owner of the house.
Description of Work: Willard's Waterproofing provided a complete waterproofing solution for our basement which included an interior french drain, sub pump, and battery back-up system. They also cleaned the walls with clorox, treated them with sealant, and filled any cracks. They completed the service on time, on budget, and explained the entire process.
