Description of Work: I was impressed with the co-owner's rapid visit to assess and estimate my move from Gibsonville to a storage room in Burlington (about a ten minute trip). Although, my house was sold and I had a smaller house (my wife had passed and I took early retirement because of my health) in Burlington, yet I had to evict and wait for the tenant to leave. With rhematic arthritis and a gastric disorder that both caused great pain, I spent weeks assembling the things I would take and store. This was one bed, one couch, about forty pairs of shoes, a "normal" amount of clothing for one person, NO big fixtures or kitchen/washer/dryer items which I had basically placed in boxes in the middle of the living room. I was given a "Good Faith Estimate" for around $358 dollars. I do not have the paper work readily available, however, it is extant. Two young men showed up on time in the morning, and without discussion said that everything was NOT ready and NOT packed because it had to be individually wrapped. I was in a lot of pain that day and spent most of the time prone, on the bed I was leaving. If these two moved any slower they would be going backwards. They wrapped EVERY item that was out there-and that did not need wrapping for a short term storage stay. I can understand their concern for my stamp collection, as there are many albums, however, wrapping each one in bubble plastic, etc. was a bit much. My favorite was an old plastic garbage can filled with some used hangars that was wrapped by them in plastic, etc. The "move" in their truck ten minutes down the road took place in the dark (remember it was the beginning of August). They insisted on company policy of my being there, which is probably good, however I was suffering from terrible gastric difficulty and was more than likely a bit to deal with. I do recall telling them during their "packing" safari that they were doing too much to just throw it on the truck (I have moved over twenty five times and a pretty good engineer of same). It must have been near ten oclock at night when finally I could drive around the corner to the new house, which had been cleaned as best possible by Girl vs Grime. When I received a bill (remember the estimate), which included extra boxes, wrapping paper, bubble wrap, etc., it had increased by over four or five hundred PERCENT to 16 or 17 or 2100...some outrageous figure. I called and was pretty much stiff armed, with them stating it was my fault, that I hadnt packed "right". I guess next time I will put wrapping on my old garbage receptacles. When I received the credit card statement, I must admit that they had deducted a hundred or two dollars, but we were nowhere near the "estimate" (which, if you are "co-owner" of a moving company, you should be pretty good at performing). So, A+ for punctuality in showing up, once for the estimate and two days later for the move...as well as doing it in the first place with that little time. I add here that I cannot be sure that this company is the "Ray's Moving" I used, but I am fairly certain. If it is not, then I completely apologize for attributing this horrid and expensive experience to these gentlemen. (PS by the end of the "packing, with the sun setting, THAT is when they started engineering the right kind of moving for my essentially worn things).

Broke. Chipped every piece of furniture. Owner thought it was funny. I paid for insurance Which did not cover anything because there was no policy. Did over $20 ,000 worth of damage. Took 13 months to get only $4,000. Also scratched floors. Mud o. Carpet. Broke stair spindle into. Very hard to talk about. Do not trust them. Main office Greensboro. Thought they were from Charlotte
