Description of Work: They provide service twice a year on our furnace and AC units. They also installed a natural gas water heater, natural gas furnace and fireplace logs for us.

Description of Work: Hovey replaced our very old gas furnace and central air with new, high-efficiency name-brand units. We obtained three estimates for such units (comparing apples-to-apples) and Hovey was the least expensive. They did all the work in one day, with a very professional, efficient and courteous crew. I watched the whole process from start to finish 8am to 3:30pm) and was highly impressed with the installers and their work ethic. They were methodical, steady workers who never swore (amazing in itself) and who made a minimum of noise or fuss. They were polite and friendly and did not insist on or even suggest having a radio playing annoying music (which most crews do, in my experience). I could not say enough good things about the whole experience......definitely first-rate and reasonably priced!

Description of Work: Our A/C condensing unit compressor locked up several days before the 4th of July 2012. Due to the age of the unit, there was no point in replacing it. HH Hovey quoted us a price and we agreed to it. The Condensing unit plus the indoor evaporator coil were replaced. There were a few minor after completion issues which I took care of myself. I was in the HVAC business in Florida for 8.5 years so they were not a big issue. There was a shutoff switch placed in the drain outlet at the evaporator, but it was wired in incorrectly, so it was not able to work. That was found because of the other issue of it not draining because the drain was double trapped. We have had no other issues with the unit since that time and are happy with the unit. I will note that our neighbor directly across the street had her unit replaced several days before, and the A?C company she used has been out there many, many times since. I'm glad we didn't use that company (one of the larger local HVAC companies.

Description of Work: My furnace was not working properly. It ran continually and still the house could not get above 60 degrees. I was unable to figure it out and fix it myself. They came, assessed the problem, and installed a new thermostat. Problem fixed.

Description of Work: The Estimator came over earlier than scheduled (yes earlier) and actually showed me the problem with our HVAC unit. We had an air handler with a very hard to access filter. He took the panels off, showed me the filter and told me how and how not to clean it. This was on an estimate call, so had I not had them do more work, he would have solved my problem for free. However, we did have a better air filtration system put in that will make the indoor air quality better and make the HVAC system run more efficiently. We have a short hair dog and this system filters out the short hairs that would normally get through the system.
