negotiated price - he was 100 dollars over a phone bid for the same service. He came down and matched it. He made good suggestions on sealing gaps between floor and wall.

Sylvester Robinson is very prompt and courteous, and came to my house on time to give me a very detailed estimate of the work I needed to have done. My house was beginning to look shabby because the painted wood was peeling, cracking, and growing mold. I hadn't even noticed that part of the wood siding needed repair - it had begun to rot where it met the porch roof, and he saw this right away. He also noticed that my porch railing was loose, and warned me that a guest could fall off and get hurt. He seemed genuinely invested in doing a good job for me. He assured me that when he was finished, I would feel proud of my house when I drove home at the end of the day, and he was right! The other painter I had contacted for an estimate (similar quote) did not mention the porch railing or rotten siding, and might have simply painted over these problems. Sylvester worked hard, even in this July's searing heat, and is a very positive person, a real pleasure to be around. He did everything on his estimate, and then went beyond the call of duty, and did MORE work than he wrote into the estimate: He sanded the porch floor so well that I could have chosen to stain and seal it rather than repaint! He put a primer coat on the porch floor as a gift to me, even though I told him I would paint the porch floor myself (to save money). He painted the church pew that I keep on the porch, just because he knew it would look better that way. He pressure washed my front steps all the way out to the street. His crew pressure washed my brick patio - I've never seen it look so nice. He even - get this - got out some gold paint and a little brush and carefully repainted my house numbers !!! And at the end of every day, he cleaned up his work, never leaving any kind of mess. I have owned homes since 1978, and have several rental houses, so I have hired plenty of painters, workmen, and handymen in my time. What sets Sylvester Robinson apart is the real pride he takes in his work. He worked on my home as if it was his own. It was important to him that I be happy, and I am. Like he predicted, when I pull up in front of my house at the end of the day, I feel proud of my house! It's the prettiest one on the street now.

This is an update to a previous report that was made before selecting someone to do this work. I interviewed about half a dozen firms to do my repairs. I chose Handyman Services because Sylvester gave me a lot of confidence he would do a good job when he came out to look at what I needed done. He conveyed this by his comments and suggestions as we discussed the needed repairs and by his very positive demeanor. I also liked that he had a high rating and good reviews on Angie's List. The icing on the cake was that his bid was below all the others...some by a wide margin. Sylvester did a great job in every respect and I'm very happy with the outcome. A definite plus was how easy and pleasant it was to interact with him during the course of the work. I was also very impressed with Sylvester's trustworthiness and integrity. I would have no problem with leaving him working in my house if I needed to run an errand. It became quickly clear to me that Sylvester is highly motivated to have very happy customers. I especially appreciated that he carried off all the debris at the end of the project. I highly recommend Sylvester without reservation.

I was very impressed with them and their quote and they are one of two companies that I am seriously considering. They came out a couple of weeks ago and then came back with a written quote. I definitely would consider using them in the future after the completion of this project.

He installed a counter, sink, and fixtures in a bathroom. He also combined two closets to make one walk-in closet, installing a light in there as well. He also did some interior painting. He was friendly to work with, a very sweet man. I was very pleased with his services. I have since moved from the area or I would have continued to work with him.

Very kind and friendly, came out quickly to review job details and gave me a quote later that day, started job very quickly after I awarded him the job. They took about a week to complete the job which was very satisfactory.
