I called the Winston-Salem office because that is the office I came to first on Angie's List. They directed me to the Greensboro office. Sara at that office was helpful at first. When I expressed my dismay that they are in Greensboro and wouldn't come to my zip code of Burlington, which is JUST outside the Burlington city limits, she tried to find me another repair person. I told her I wanted someone verified on Angie's List. She got very snippy when told her to just forget it I would find someone myself if they couldn't be bothered to come 25 miles to Burlington for service and she hung up on me. She was very unprofessional and obviously does not know how to handle frustrated potential customers.

Employee showed up Tuesday at 10:30, diagnosed the issue and had it fixed by noon. My wife was very impressed with the professionalism and I was impressed with the price. Parts, labor and trip charge are included in the $221.
Description of Work: Woke up Monday morning and found the refrigerator was not cold and everything was defrosting. Used Angie's List and found Convenient Appliance Service and gave them a call. They said they could come out Tuesday morning between 8 and 12 and there would be a $75 trip charge.

Brad White was outstanding. His explanations about problems and solutions were clear and understandable. Ultimately I only had to pay for a service call as the costs to repair are cost prohibitive. Other providers might have been vague about the costs until the repairs had been done.

It went extremely well and I'm very pleased with the service provided. The technician was knowledgeable, experienced, and professional. He diagnosed the problem, verified, and corrected the problem while explaining and showing me the issues. He offered useful advice and in the end charged me a fair amount that did not leave me feeling gauged. I will recommend Convenient Appliance Service and will use them again in the future if the need arises.
Description of Work: I have a Maytag High Efficiency washing machine that is two years old. It was getting stuck on the rinse cycle and not completing the wash as well as a lot of vibration. When I called to set up the appointment I explained my work schedule and the woman offered to put me first on the list with an 8 a.m. -9 a.m. appointment. The technician called at 7:55 a.m. this morning to say he was on the way. He was very professional and explained exactly what he was doing and why. Based on my description of the problem he had a pretty good idea what was wrong and was able to verify the issue. I live on well water and the hard water deposits had clogged up the cold water line (cold water is the default for the rinse cycle) and the machine could not do it's job and had freaked out. He gave good advice about where I could find a filter for the hose and after cleaning out the hose he recalibrated the machine. He charged me the minimum for labor $37 plus the service call charge $75, and the new tax on repairs which was $7.56 so the total was $119.56.

Several months after moving into our new home we began smelling gas coming from our oven. Since the repairs were still under warranty we were connected with CAS, who does the warranty work for Ferguson's, where we purchased the range. An appointment was set up within a day or two, and a technician, Chance, came out. He told us right up front that sometimes it takes several attempts to get the oven regulated perfectly. He adjusted the oven, tested everything, and told us to call if we had any more problems. We did have to call a couple of more times, and each time Chance came out and tweaked the adjustments. He consulted with other techs. as well as with Frigidaire to make sure he was doing everything possible to solve the problem. We appreciated Chance's positive attitude and professionalism, and we liked the fact that it was the same tech. who came out each time so he would know the history of the problem. It's been a few days, and we have not had the gas smell, and while we wished it could have been fixed the first time, we understood, right from the start, that it would take several attempts.

David Hanger - Technician called when he was on his way with his ETA. He was there on time. He had a neat professional appearance and seemed to know his business. David did a brief analysis of the issue and gave me a recommendation to buy a new dishwasher even though he could have repaired my old one and he does not install new units. He quoted a price for the repair. The part he needed to replace along with the labor would cost almost as much as buying a new unit from Lowes with the current Black Friday sales. He suggested I price a new one and then call him to let him know whether I wanted him to return and repair the unit or buy a new one.

It is a built in oven and I was about to buy a new one but they are not cheap but it came back on its own. He gave me a lot of information and also told me that he could fix it. What they would have done is pull out the unit that is burned out or what I thought was burned out and send it out to some factory in Indiana and they would repair it. I was not very excited about that. I called them and they gave me information over the telephone and told me what it would cost to repair the part. The next day I looked into the panel and I fixed it accidently I guess. I thought they were a good company and if I had something that they would repair I would consider them. They were very helpful and knowledgeable.

The washing machine is adding a grey scum to the clothes. I have to rub it off with a wet terry cloth. It seems to me that the machine rinses with the wash water and water from previous loads - dirty water from somewhere. I have been washing clothes a long time and I have never seen such a mess. This is not lint from other items I've washed. Where is this grey film coming from? Something is wrong with this washer and it's getting worse. Either this is a horrible washing machine, something about the drain is broken or it's not installed correctly. The technician from CAS had no idea how to solve this problem. He said that the muck would come off in the dryer. It's ridiculous that this would come off in the dryer. I have to rub with wet terry cloth to get it off. The washing machine is ADDING this mess to the clothes. Since I do not put silk, rayon, washable wool etc in the dryer , he made me feel that it's my fault. If this is extortion to force me to buy one of those steaming dryers it won't work. That would not solve this problem. Many fabrics don't tolerate heat --- wash in cold water and air dry; this has worked for centuries. I have done all I can do: read the manual several times, run the machine cleaning cycle which uses a huge amount of water-- so much for "efficiency". I use very small amount of the correct detergent. I have never put bleach or fabric softener in this machine. I always use the extra rinse. I sort the loads by color. I've been washing clothes a long time. I have never seen such a mess. I have never seen a washing machine add scum to the clothes. Where is this scum coming from? If convenient appliance service (CAS) represents and services maytag in this area, they must know better how to make them work properly. If Convenient Appliance Service chooses to represent, and get paid by, this very poor washing machine, then they must share in the responsibility. UNACCEPTABLE. wa;
Description of Work: He did nothing. The technician had no idea how to fix the problem and didn't seem to think it was important. The top loading high efficiency washer leaves scum residue on the clothes. The clothes, especially dark colors, come out much dirtier that they go into the washer. The technician had no idea how to fix this problem and didn't seem to think it was important. He called the manufacturer (maytag) whose pat answer was that this would come off in the dryer, which is ridiculous! The washing machine Is ADDING the scum to the not dirty clothes. .

we have been in contact with (member name removed) reguarding her situation with her Maytag washing machine I asked her what her issues were and she informed me that the Manufacture nor the Dealer would refund or replace her machine. So she thought that beating up on the authorized independent servicer was her last form of attack. We tried to advise her how to properly use a high efficiency washing machine. After using her 25 year old machine it is hard for her to adjust. I have delivered her some special laundry detergent and have tried on 3 different occasions to call her. She will answer the phone and tell me she does not have time to talk. The product is under warranty and we have not charged her any repairs. We cannot change the way the washer was manufactured. All we can do is instruct her on the way to properly use the machine. We have checked to make sure the machine is working to manufacture specs. We hate that she feels beating up on us will get here the results she wants but the manufacture and the Dealer makes those decisions

Bob from the Greensboro office was on time, very professional, and extremely knowledgable about the appliance. He diagnosed the problem as a microprocesser sticking on the control board. He was able to get the microprocessor to unstick. He presented the option of replacing the board now and provided the total cost (parts and labor) or we could wait and see if it failed again. We choose wait and see. We have used Bob Belloise from Convenient Appliance Service - Greensboro office multiple times and have never been disappointed! We have found our appliance guy!

I like the fact that I could send them an email and they contacted me by email before 7 am the following morning and by phone before 8 am and then they gave me an appointment, so I could go on about my day and meet them when they were able to get to me.
