Boyd's Professional Concrete is a private company which offers: Advanced Concrete Construction, Concrete Contractor, Concrete Install, Concrete Work and Curing Concrete.
I contacted Boyds Professional Concrete and Masonry after finding them listed on Angie's List. Mr. Boyd came over that same day and provided me with a project estimate. I accepted his asking price for the job. We then agreed that he would perform this work - repairing the cracked masonry on our front porch and steps and on our patio - that Friday, Nov. 11 beginning at 8:00 AM. At 9:15 AM I called his office to find out where he was. He called back to say that he had decided to wait until later that day before starting because of the cold weather and that he'd be to our home by noontime. Around 11:00 AM, he called to ask if he could come at 8:30 AM the following day, Saturday the 13th, instead. Even though I had rearranged my schedule so I could be home all day Friday, I agreed. I then rearranged my Saturday schedule so I would be home while he performed the work. He and a colleague arrived at 8:15 AM on Saturday. I said good morning, shook his hand, then the three of us went into the backyard to move the patio table off of the patio stone so he would not have to work around it. After I noticed that there was no noise outside the house, I realized that Mr. Boyd and his colleague had left without beginning the project accept for removing by hand a few lose pieces of concrete. I called his office at 12:15 PM, where I was told by the lady there to call his cell phone. I immediately left him a voice mail message, which was not returned. I called and left Mr. Boyd another voice mail message this past Monday at 8:26 AM. It is now almost noon on the 16th, 5 days after the original project start date, and I still have not seen Mr. Boyd. Nor had the courtesy of a return phone call or an explanation on why he left without doing a project that he had quoted. Really odd given that he had taken the time to to come out initially to quote the project, then a second time to presumably work on it. Even odder given that, when I had asked him to also quote repairing the driveway, he said he would after I first saw the quality of his workmanship. So he walked away from 2 projects, not just one.
Description of Work: None were performed (see below). The project that was quoted was to remove/repair some cracked mortar between the stones on our front porch and steps, as well as on part of our backyard patio. I thought the price he quoted for the project was fair - that's of course why I hired him.
