Chris Hilton and his team exceeded my expectations. They were so thorough and so concerned. Yet, they were very realistic. I did not expect them to find research to validate their findings or send recall information on appliances and other fixtures. He provided so much added value. I am very pleased and thankful.

My husband and I are in the process of purchasing our first home. Our realtor referred us to Chris Hilton to conduct the home inspection and I'm so glad she did. He arrived promptly on time and was fully prepared to go to the 100 yards. Chris is very personable, respectful and knowledgeable of his profession having over 20 years experience. I walked with him throughout the home asking questions and absorbing how the home works. He went into the attic and welcomed my step dad to go with him into the crawlspace (and he did). He walked around the house even in the rain. He documented everything and took pictures. It took around 3 hours from start to finish. His report was done and sent to my realtor and myself the very next morning. I was nervous going into the inspection but he eased my nerves knowing that he is on the buyers side and working hard to prepare the buyer for any future issues. I highly recommend Chris Hilton to do your home inspection!

CHRIS HILTON put our minds at ease during the beginning of the home inspection.He informed me to stick close and ask any questions i had about what he was looking at. He is extremely thorough, from the most minor thing you or I would never think about, to a hazard that needs attention, he left nothing out. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

I was disappointed with the inspection itself because it was simply a cursory description of visible flaws, and contained no interpretation or analysis I could use to judge the condition of the home. For example, there was water damage on the ceiling. I expected that an inspector would use a moisture probe to see if the water damage is current, and then try to locate the source of the water. Instead there was just a note that there visible water damage, which anyone could see by looking. Now I have no idea if the water damage is something to be concerned about or a 20 year old leak that has been fixed. The same pattern was repeated concerning insect damage, cracks in interior walls, etc, which could either be major flaws or cosmetic. Now I'm going to have to hire someone else who actually knows what they're doing to walk through the house with me and do an actual inspection to determine which items are cosmetic and which are serious. The inspection itself would have garnered two stars, but I dropped the evaluation to one star because Mr. Hilton gives your contact information to one or more 3rd parties who market services to people buying homes. Although he couches this as "saving you money", in reality people buying a house are valuable leads. Being called by a security alarm company promising a deal is not "saving me money" but selling my contact information as a sales lead. If you like getting emails with lots of words like FREE FREE FREE and SAVE SAVE SAVE, and getting contacted by people touting bogus coupons, then you might appreciate the "extra value" Mr. Chilton provides. When I asked him to not use my information for marketing purposes he said he would only comply if I signed a release shielding him from liability! In fact, he reserves the right to sell your personal information as a condition of hiring him hidden the fine print of the contract. While it is true that I should have read the contract more carefully, the idea that my personal contact information would be used in this manner is so outside the realm of ethical behavior it never entered my mind.
