this was not a good experience at all. had heard good things about this company so had high expectations. They installed oak floors in the kitchen and a bedroom. After each coat of polyurethane, there were swirl images all over the floors, even after the 3rd coat, the floors showed images of swirls in both rooms. There was also grass that was left on the floor and what appeared to be lots of dust that had been sealed with polyurethane. We called the supervisor who came to our house to look at the floors. He honestly did not act like he was very interested but he did send another crew who stripped the floors to the bare wood and applied 3 more coats of polyurethane. We were told to wait a month till the floors seasoned out and we would be satisfied. Well 4 weeks have passed and today I can still see swirl marks on the bedroom floor, not nearly as many but nevertheless there are some still visible. There are particles here and there, of some sort, on the floors, sealed by polyurethane. After all of the issues we had with these floors, and the bill paid in full, not once did anyone from Carolina Wood Floors call us back to see if we were satisfied with the second attempt to do these floors. The quality of the work was very disappointing and their behaviors certainly did not demonstrate to me that they cared about the inconvenience and aggravation we endured. Would not recommend or use again.

Their quality product and their punctuality are excellent. They did a great job and they were very professional about everything they did. They made us feel comfortable about the whole process. Their pricing was excellent and very livable. They did fine.

While I have not used this provider's service, Carolina Wood Floors was very punctual with their estimate. Mark's demeanor at our appointment was professional and confidence inspiring. I have decided to go with another company, based primarily on cost and other Angie's List reviews. However, I would not hesitate to call CWF at another time.

Carolina Wood Floors installed our floors in our new house, 16 years ago. We went with them again because they did a great job then. This time too the job was exceptionally well done. We are extremely pleased with the refinished floors. From the beginning, the salesman/supervisor and the workers were very professional being most courteous, hard working, thorough and careful. The crew that moved the furniture did so quickly and took great caution to not damage the walls or the furniture, and they didn't. The flooring crew was a great professional team. They were considerate, accommodating, industrious, polite. They knew what they were doing and the workmanship of the completed job showed it. This crew helped us by providing a wide variety of stain colors from which to choose and patiently waited for us to select our color. The crew cleaned up after each day's work and helped us with ventilation while the stain and polyurethane dried. This crew was always prompt, kept us informed about the status of the job , provided us with helpful ideas and worked within our time restraints. The sales person (Mark) supervised the entire job and too, was most accommodating and helpful. He advised us continuously and appropriately insured the job progressed on time and was to our liking. We walked on the floor after three days, but let the floors 'cure' for three weeks before placing rugs and furniture.
Description of Work: Refinished hard wood floors in great room, dining room, kitchen, halls and entrance way (about 1,800 square feet.) Floors were sanded, stained, and four coats (three coats are standard) of polyurethane applied . Toe molding was removed and new, stained toe molding installed. Service included move of heavy furnature (couches, easy chairs), refrigerator and rugs to basement and return after resurfacing was completed. Entire refinishing was completed in one week. Dustless system was used and is just that, dustless. (At our request, CWF covered shelving, cupboards, heavy paintings and mirrors with plastic, but that was not necessary as the dustless system was sufficient.) The job was self financed as CWF does not take credit cards.

It was the worst experience ever working with a company. The installation people were so rude and would not listen to a thing that we said. This resulted in a heated argument with the installers. The bathroom tile installation was so poorly done that I could have done a better job and we had two bathrooms done. A second person came out to try and remedy the work and he didnt listen to us either and didnt really fix anything. VERY poor attitude. Can I say it again that the attitude of the installers was VERY bad The salesman came and offered to fix what had been done but the fix was not worth having these people come out again. I repaired the most obvious problems with caulk which was basically what the saleperson had offered. I just cant understand why the installers would not listen to what my wife and I said. They only do what the sales person says to do and of course he was out of town. I would have preferred Jewel Interiors but they could not do it within our time frame.

Jay met me on time, the day after I first called, to do the estimate. He called back the next day with the estimate, which was less than his initial ballpark guess of $1200-$1400, and that since it was a fairly small job they could squeeze it in and start the next day. They sanded (the rooms were already cleared out), and over the next 3 days did 3 coats of finish. The result was very good - not quite like-new, since I had asked them to keep the price reasonable and avoid repairing minor holes and blemishes - and I am very satisfied. Jay, the rep, was very friendly and professional. I didn't meet the guys who did the work. Cleanup was fine, just a couple of sanding disks left behind. No dust to speak of! (Some kind of fancy dust-minimization system is one of their sales points).
Description of Work: Refinish 40-year old oak floors in living room, dining room, and two hallways with a split-level step between them - about 600 sq ft total. They also replaced the shoe molding. Since we're readying the house for sale, I asked that they do only what was necessary to achieve a decent result. I also wanted it done as soon as possible.

We got 3 quotes and Carolina Wood Floors was the cheapest. The job was done extremely fast. I did think the floors would have turned out a little better than they did, but maybe you get what you pay for.
