I am so happy with the work Carolina Creations did for me! My yard and areas around the house had gotten completely out of control with ivy and “volunteer” plants and trees, it was hard for me to know where start. On Rick’s initial walk-around visit, he assessed all of the needs I had compiled and gave great advice on individual issues and plants (his in-depth horticultural knowledge was very apparent). After that, we exchanged a few emails and scope-of-work docs which was extremely helpful to me in deciding how to prioritize the work (some now, some later). I appreciated Rick’s patience as we worked together to craft a plan of action! In performing the work, Rick and his team were very friendly and professional. It is clear they are all about customer satisfaction and that they take pride in their work. They did a heroic job clearing the areas in front of my house of ivy :) I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely hire them again to continue the adventure!

Went great, the new drains installed have fixed my run off issues and new ground cover looks very nice.

Rick and his crew were very friendly and professional. Shrubs to be saved were carefully marked, and I was consulted throughout regarding what and how much to prune to preserve privacy while simultaneously improving the appearance of the border. Cleanup was immaculate. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

Ricky was very responsive and punctual. He described, in detail and in writing, the work that he would do, and provided an estimate. He dug up the clay that was serving as the plant bed; he graded the bed area; installed new soil that was needed, and installed all new plants. It looks beautiful...and the water drains properly! I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Working with Ricky and his team was a pleasure. My only regret is that I didn't use Ricky's services the first time. I would definitely hire him again.

Initially, great. Very pleasant crew. Very tidy work. When they were done it looked great. Unfortunately a few months later a bunch of dead plants. I contacted him, sent pictures and he came and looked at plants. Told me he would replace the dead, then a couple months later emailed me to let me know he had been busy but had not forgot. Now about 14 months later no replacement, just neighbors asking me if the dead landscaping is intentional (very low maintenance)

In my 10 years here in North Carolina and a dozen landscaping contractors throughout the years, I can say with out a doubt that Rick McIntyre and his team at Carolina Creations Landscaping were shoulders above anyone else I have ever worked with. Rick and his crew showed up when they said they would through out the entire project. Even when Rick and his team were tied up due to weather or any other extenuating circumstance, he would call the night before and let us know. As for the work, his teams workmanship and Rick's knowledge of plants, grass and his artistic approach to our landscaping needs are second to none. The entire job came out wonderful and my wife and I could not be happier with his work and his prices are FANTASTIC!!! To top it all off, after the job was completed, Rick took it upon himself to come back to the house and water our new plantings because he knew how busy we were. Truly a class act and a great team of people. Rick has earned a permanent place in my address book and my wife and I already have him scheduled for more work next fall. Decorative stone was placed around the fence to the property line and bermuda sod was installed beyond that to the street. A row of Ligustrum was planted on the street side of the fence and three Pindo Palms were planted along the street. A winding walkway from the pool to the street was also completed. We were very pleased with the work and when we asked for a couple of areas to be tweaked, the response was positive and quick.

You can't go wrong with Ricky and his team. They are extremely conscientious about price, quality control, and completing the job professionally. What I love about Ricky, though, (other than the fact that he loves my dog, Angus:) is the left brain/right brain dynamic at work. When a landscaper literally jumps with excitement over an idea for your yard, you know you are in the right hands. (And jump he did! I'll never forget it, because it showed pure joy and love for the work. Right away I knew, "this guy is hired!") We have used other professional landscapers in the past (one of which is a big name in this area, listed here on Angie's list) but their customer service and pricing is absurd. Although they did a decent job, it was such a hassle to deal with them. Such a relief to know it doesn't have to be an endless array of missed appointments and un-returned phone calls to get your lawn serviced. Rick is the first to say that experience--which he has--trumps a horticulture degree when it comes to great landscaping work, but I say with Ricky you are lucky to get both. When we struggled over how best to combat our backyard moss problem, we evaluated several options--including Calpro, an intensive lime treatment-- and associated costs. Rick got on the phone with his NC State professor for his input. That's the benefit of a horticulture degree, among other things. (In the end, we decided to re-sod.) The worst problem with our backyard, by far, was the drainage issue. Despite having small french drains installed, we were invariably left with a backyard of mush. Carolina Creations solved the problem with a grate and proper pipe installation--and then tweaked it until it was right. We are extremely grateful. Our backyard is a haven again. Book early with this top notch company--that is my only cautionary note. They get really busy in spring and fall, so fair warning.

It went great! Ricky and his crew really helped my out of a pinch. I normally do all of my own gardening, but I've had back problems, and my gardens were overgrown. I know weeding is below Ricky and his crew's expertise, but they worked with me. My gardens look beautiful, and now that they are under control, I can do the maintenance a little at a time. I previously had a slope covered by boxwoods that I hated and no access to my upper yard, now I have an outdoor area covered by colorful bushes and?blooming trees with beautifully stained hardwood steps.??I could not be more pleased!? I was most impressed by the professionalism and attention to detail CCL provided. They spaced all the new plantings in such a way that the color of each blooming bush and tree is visible from every part of my backyard.?The way they placed the hard wood steps up the slope makes it appear as though they have always been a part of the landscaping.?Where they trenched the yard to run the?drip line from my faucet to the slope,?they reseeded?and placed straw over the area.? I greatly appreciated the efforts they made to?clean up after they finished their work.? My yard was pristine - no mess was left for me to clean up or pick up.?Whatever they removed from the yard, they hauled away.? As my neighbors tell me now,?"your back yard looks like a park"? and I could not agree more!? I will definitely contact CCL in the future for additional landscaping work!?

It took longer than expected to get a service date. But everything worked out in the end. We're pleased with the product and service provided. I would recommend to others ...especially those living in Winston-Salem. I live in King and got the impression I'm outside their normal service area which might explain the slowness in getting a service date.

The crew was absolutely wonderful! They wanted to please and do the job the best way possible. I now want them to come every year.

Not sure I remember all the details but he came and did not hurry going through our yard and hearing us out on our ideas/wants, but he spoke about possibilities, suggestions, and feeling us out for what we wanted it to look like and also consider care of these plants, etc. He is big on color and placement design, which was a great thing we thought, you can tell he has experience with this but he is open to us bringing up certain plants, shrubs we thought we wanted. The crew that comes are polite, work very hard, and he also came to make sure things were done as should be....even to just unplanting an turning around a plant that he did not think was placed in the center the right way !!! They cleaned up and hauled off all waste, even replanted a thing or two for us that we asked when they were pulled out of ground in one area, they went ahead and re planted them somewhere else for us. Work was done on timely manner told to us, just a little delay with weather, but all done pretty much to schedule.

Our office building was completely renovated in the last quarter of 2015. The final step to making it look complete was the landscaping. We met with Rick from Carolina Creations Landscaping, liked his ideas and decided to go with them. Rick and his crew were professional, always on time and worked extremely hard. They did exactly what they said they would do and even went above and beyond our expectations. Rick took the time to listen to our wants and needs and made great suggestions. His crew made sure that our parking lot and surrounding areas were always clean and neat when they finished work for the day. Rick was always in contact to let us know that status of the projects he was working on. It was a breath of fresh air to work with a company that gave the level of support and commitment that we received from Carolina Creations Landscaping. We will certainly work with Rick and his crew in the future.

Work was done well. Rick and team were punctual and did what they said they would do. Did not feel like I had to watch over them. Felt comfortable with their their ideas and ability to carry out. Final product was exactly as discussed. quality of plants and bushes good. Had to work through a lot of bad weather and they did all possible to work around it. and use again.Would highly recommend and use again.

,They performed their services in a very professional manner. My wife and I were both very pleased with the work performed and the concern to ensure we were satisfied with the work. For example, there was one area where that needed some followup and a return visit and they followed up promptly to ensure the work was done to my satisfaction. I plan to use them again without any hesitation.

This process was perfect for us. There was nothing to complain about. Well, weather, but that's it!!! It was the really rainy 2 weeks we had in October and it just put the project on hold. And, even then, Ricky was in contact with us about ideas, what was to come next and when we could expect them. From start to finish, Rick was prompt with his meeting times, emails and texts. He had just had a newborn and STILL was on the ball. Never once did Rick not call us back, follow up on an email, follow up on a crazy change of mind we had, or just simply not contact us. NEVER! In fact, in this competitive time, Rick was more professional and willing to go the extra mile, that that's what sealed the deal. He didn't tell us what we wanted to hear. He told us what to expect and that is how we roll. His entire crew was pleasant, respectful, courteous, professional and prompt. They bent over backward to make everything just right. Rick's knowledge impressed us. I gave him a general idea of my style and when we walked around 2 local nurseries, he picked out things that were right on with what I would like. We have had many people over that have commented on how wonderful the backyard is and how peaceful it is. That hits the mark!!! Our job was really large but I have no doubt that this company would take care of any job, big or small. Rick's enthusiasm for a project is refreshing. We are so grateful that he and his wonderful crew helped us transition into our new house. If you need landscaping, big or small, this company has integrity and is reliable. How refreshing!!
